Tons of slips are glossy. The embossing is nice, but that's nothing new either.

But unlike other glossy, embossed slips, this one is better than a 401k. You'll be rolling in dough if you ever decide to sell it. So whatever you do, don't open it and watch it. The value will immediately drop to used BD prices.

1) I totally forgot about that. It was so late.... He did a solid ten minutes, back and forth, yelling about hating nerds. I kept thinking, "I'm a nerd. Ruined's a nerd. Pretty much every person who loves blus enough to fill a home with them, is a nerd. Nerds are cool. David may be losing his mind.... I hope he's okay." Again, it was awkward, just plain awkward.

2) He doesn't. Bill usually does these on the phone.... I mean calling in, on the phone, not texting other people on the phone. I guess he did this one on the phone too. I just love Bill. He's funny.

I know people who buy new cars. NEW cars. When I finally had the money to do that, I didn't even consider doing that. Why throw away your money? Or worse.... Why throw away money you have to borrow?

It's sourced from a pretty worn theatrical print and not "restored" at all. There are major scratches, burns, etc. If you're looking for perfection this isn't the disc for you. It's meant to replicate the experience of seeing the movie in a Drive-In. If you're a big fan of the film (which I am) you'll probably still want to own this, since it has the "Gates of Hell" title, and also pick up either the Blue Underground, Arrow or upcoming Scorpion disc.

Not to mention Cinema84 we never get 2 weeks behind with the shipping. We are currently processing order numbers in the late 4100's now. But as Bill stated if you can't wait a week or so for your precious blu's and do a chargeback, you will be put on The List and no longer able to order from the Dark Force store under that name and address. Which means you'll miss out on the upcoming ATOR, MIRROR MIRROR, DRIVE-IN #7, THE BANKER and many more including the mystery title we will be announcing that is a big 70's cult horror movie that we just acquired the original 35mm negative. In closing, we know these movies are awesome but having to wait a week for shipping won't kill you.

So a customer asked about an unusually long wait on shipping date and this is how you respond.



First off, this specific part "if you can't wait a week or so for your precious blu's". I'm never EVER gonna forget that line.



Here's what a normal response from a reputable company would look like:

Hi, sorry about the delay, we normally don't get 2 weeks behind with the shipping. But we are currently processing order numbers in the late 4100's now. It's been a little busy over here. Hopefully by the beginning of next week your order should ship out. As far as the chargeback you mentioned. If you don't get a shipping confirmation by Tuesday, send me an email, please give us a chance to rectify the situation asap. We value your business with us.

I'm satisfied with the official reply from DF. The "precious" comment wasn't necessary but the overall response answered my question. BTW, I never actually intended to file a chargeback. That would be a douchebaggy thing to do.
