Ouch, that sounds like it was a pain too! I will say though, cleaning up yesterday's mess was a hell of a lot easier than the mess when the sump pump failed.

There are a lot of message boards etc around the net that are pretty crappy. I find these forums on Blu-ray.com to about the best I've ever been on. Pretty good community of people on here I gotta say.

Honestly I love talking about video games on here too. It's nearly impossible to post something on the IGN message boards and not get torn apart by someone. Even if you own both consoles or whatever your always a "fanboy" or something much worse according to many on those forums. I don't know if it's full of children or what but it can be pretty bad on there at times.

I've been posting on message boards since I was thirteen. In those years, I've been on many forums. This one is the only one I really keep coming back to. I also love TheForce.Net, but that's a mainly Star Wars only board. High def digest is decent. No one ever responded to me though. They're really cliquey. And I've been there 8 years!

I used to go on there too back years ago when there was still a format war going on. I find those message boards to be dead mostly now so I haven't gone back. Blu-ray.com is where its at!

I'm wondering why can't books come with codes, similar to Blu-rays. That way when you buy an actual book, you can get the eBook free via the code. If they put plastic around the books, they wouldn't have to worry about anyone just stealing codes without buying the book. The codes could be universal and redeemable on both Kindle and iBooks. What does everyone think? Good idea? Why don't they do this?

I think if publishers think it will make them money, then yes they might do it. I think it would be a cool idea, but there would have to be a better way of entering the code, like a website retrieval or something.

They could do like Fox does, use QR codes to scan with your phone. That's one way that would be better than entering the code by hand. It could go to one central website that all publishers are partnered with, and it would work like DMA in which you enter the code once and it pushes the digital rights to Kindle and iBooks (and others they wish to partner with).

Then you could fetch the book on your Kindle device, iOS device, or Android device using the Kindle app.

Facebook is a waste of time and I am seriously considering dropping it. All I need is some kind of a push.

You're just figuring this out now? Drop it now. There's your push.

I've posted similar things in the past, I'd love my big books to have digital copies with them, they're heavy awkward things and I'd love to read them on a Kindle or tablet, plus they could put the pictures in HD for us to pore over every detail.

Plus it's always annoying when the digital copies have bonus features (like videos), that the physical ones don't, and they could have audio snippets too.

I still have a Facebook account, but I only check it out every 2 or 3 months. It's the only way I can keep in touch with some of my long lost buddies that have moved far away. If you tell anybody I still have an account, I will deny it all.

Oddly enough, I spend FAR more time on this site, than my FB.
I like FB for keeping in touch with family and friends who live far from me. Catching up with them takes only a few minutes. I could stay here for hours, at times.
Which site eats more of my time? Obviously time isn't the factor, interest is.

Not only that, but Facebook doesn't cost me anything. I spend way too much money on here. That's ok, I still like hanging out on here. If only there was some way to stop spending so much money on here.

I concur!
The Blus I have to get, the equipment I desire and save for, this site can definitely help me part with my hard earned cash.
But I don't mind this at all!

What annoys me is that, out of all the books I bought on Amazon, only two are available on Matchbook. (Matchbook, in case you weren't aware, are discounted Kindle books on Amazon if you bought the book from them, so a $10 Kindle eBook could cost $1 if you bought the actual book)

I just paid $13 for an eBook that I already had the paperback of, just so I could carry it around in my pocket on my phone. I wish Amazon matched it, but they wanted full price.

I hadn't heard of Matchbook, interesting, but I'm not sure we have it in the UK.

It's a little hard to find on Amazon (you'd think their navigation would be better, guess not) so I just google "Amazon Matchbook" every time and it takes me right there.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/digital/ep-landing-page

Not sure if the UK has it or not.

After you log in, it will search your purchase history and bring up any titles that are in Matchbook with the discounted price.

Here's something on my mind. How does theft, destruction and violence combat injustice?
