The way society is moving forward, I often think that suicide might just be easier.

Don't say that man. That's never the easiest way. Think about your family and friends.

And that's why it's best to stay away from that part of the net.

Mt wife is an emotional wreck right now. This morning we said goodbye to her oldest son and his family after a three week stay with us. She's not an overly emotional person, but this is hurting her quite a bit. I console her, but short of moving us closer to them, there's not a lot I can do.
Maybe a funny movie will help her out. I gotta try something.

Major plumbing issue at the house today! I noticed water coming out from under the cold water handle, turned it a bit to try and tighten it to get it to stop, at it breaks! Water is rushing UP! I tried to screw the handle back on, didn't work, look under the sink for shut off, NOPE, ran down stairs to shut it off, NOPE, so I ended up unplugging the well pressure tank to get it to stop!

Needless to say, after clean up, all call to dad, a visit from a plumber, a credit card charge for 450 bucks, and three hours late to work, I still feel like I am not calmed down from the event.

In hindsight, I think I created a lot of the mess by turning the handle counter clockwise to get it to tighten (that's the same way that it is turned in order to shut the water off). If I had turned it to the right, to tighten it, like I should have, it probably wouldn't have of happened. Just like if I had turned the water shut off valves to the right! I know righty tighty lefty loosey but hey, I panicked! I'm a first time homeowner after all!

It is also a good thing that I had the 450 in savings so I didn't have to go into the red for it but it sucks because I was saving for something else. The first thing that I am doing when I have some extra money to blow, installing water shut offs under the other two sinks in the house! I won't this happen again. Had there been shut offs under the sink, before this happened, I would of just shut the cold water down, cleaned up and been on my way like nothing happened.

Is it weird for a grown man to buy a Star Wars Lego set as a display piece?

damn, that sux! plumbing is a pain when it goes bad. we replaced all the shutoffs on our house when one of them went bad. we didn't want the same thing happening.....again. plus we replaced all the rubber hoses with stainless steel braided hoses (still rubber on the inside, but the braided part means less of a chance of them bursting).

No! I have my Lego Simpson House (minus garage and car), Ecto-1 and BTTF cars on display in my living room.
