Out of that list I picked TNG. But another one that isn't on there is The Outer Limits from the 90's. That show was pretty good, especially the 2 part one with Beau Bridges I think.

I went with ST:TOS, but that was a hard choice to make, many great choices. In the end there is a reason it gave birth to such a colossal franchise (5 series, 11 movies, books, comics...) and has been copied/parodied by so many others.

Also I would not consider x-files or smallville sci-fi.

I especially loved "Time Enough at Last," " To Serve Man" and "The Invaders!" I own the entire series on DVD and before that on Beta! TZ got me hooked on Sci-Fi way before Star Trek!

Currently, I'd have to go for Star Trek: Next Gen because I watch the re-runs on Sci-Fi and also have the DVD sets. But ST: DS9 and ST: Voy are still near and dear to my heart as well.
Close behind would be X-Files, both Stargate series, and classic Doctor Who (particularly the Tom Baker years).

Having a LOST rewatch right now. I started on Friday, and Im more than halfway through season 2. Its only gonna get easier from here, btw im watching 1-4 on the best format to watch it on....BD
