Actually, they have plenty of X-men related films in production, so there was no danger of rights reverting there. They "squeezed out that turd" because that is simply the first of the X-men spin-off movies to be produced, because it was centered on the most popular character of the spin-offs they had to work with.

If you think Jar Jar was a racial allegory, you are a racist yourself. He was made to be a fool, yes, but to connect the dots from "fool" to "black folk" is racist.

i like the first one alot, second one was eh

but i'd watch a reboot if it looked good

though i don't really think it needs to be rebooted, i would have liked a sequel...just a good one much better than the second with a little less campy, but still funny

and please....with the "going darker thing"
just because batman did it (which i loved btw) doesn't mean everyone has to...

and Chiklis needs to be back as thing regardless!!

With all of the reboots happening lately, I think they would be good if they dont just retell the origin story over and over.

I think most people know how the FF got their powers by now...if they decide to reboot...I think it would do much better if half the movie didn't have to re-explain their powers.

Just start somewhat like The Incredible Hulk did...that movie was great!

Thanks

I really liked Michael Chiklis as the Thing. Personally, I would like to see them retain him.

I'm against the "darker tone" though as the FF was never (really) a "dark" comic. The problem with the first two films (besides Alba) was the writing, not the "tone" of the film.

I think their biggest problem is that they were trying to make it too family oriented in a way and aimed the film at really young children. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer was given a PG rating. It was good and I have nothing against it for the fact that it seems like these comic book adaptions were aimed at making money off toys.

I agree. They made the second one way too family friendly. Kind of an insult to older comic book fans like myself. Hopefully the reboot will do justice to the source material while providing enough draw for a general audience.

Default Fantastic Four: Reborn?

It is being rumored, by AICN , that the new Fantastic Four reboot movie will be called "Reborn".

Quote:
In September of 2009, it was revealed that 20th Century Fox has started developing a reboot of the "Fantastic Four" movie franchise. Akiva Goldsman was hired to produce and Michael Green (upcoming Green Lantern) would write the script.

Now comes word from Ain't It Cool News that the title for the reboot may be Fantastic Four Reborn. A quick look at the WHOIS database of registered domain names reveals that 20th Century Fox has indeed registered FantasticFourReborn.com (it doesn't go anywhere yet).

Studios often register multiple domain names for each property to make sure they get what they want, but this is certainly an indicator that it is a title they are considering.

IMDB often has the year wrong on future releases. I'm not saying this isn't true, just that the year is often wrong so I wouldn't necessarily use this as a definitive source.

I've noticed that too. I should have put my "grain of salt" caviot with regards to IMDB on there.

Don't worry, he won't be in it. FF is owned by Fox and he is not under contract with them.

I read the news about the new title earlier this morning. How lame is that? I have very little expectations for this movie right now, if any at all.

Akiva Goldsman producing (and presumably scripting at some point)?
Uh, guys, I don't think that's quite exactly going to solve the particular problem of the first two movies...

(AISTR, the problem with the first two FF's was that they looked like comic-book movies that HAD been written by Goldsman. )
