Cruel Intentions 2 was actually a prequel and Amy Adams is the star playing a younger version of Sarah Michelle Gellar's character. I watched some of it on HBO a while back. Apparently it was going to be a TV show but Fox passed on it so they made it into a movie.

And not really a bad sequel either (by Golan/Globus standards), basically ground out on the assembly line in a two-part with the pleasant-if-forgettable "Breakin'" #1.

(Let's be honest, if you hammer a pop-culture-reference gag far enough into the ground for enough years, pretty soon, you'll get a backlash section of the audience that wants to look up the real thing, just for a little danged variety.)

Attack of the Clones, I can't believe they made a sequel to Phantom Menace, and actually made it worse...you'd think jar jar would've killed the franchise, but Hayden Christensen turned out to be way worse...

What about a movie that came before one that you never knew about? I never knew anything about Manhunter until years after I had seen Silence of the Lambs. I saw that on TBS late night about '92 or '93. WTF?
