bird with the crystal plumage is fantastic
i feel like its always forgotten in lieu of his later gorier/scarier films whenever Argento is discussed. ive always considered it one of my favorites. its never more evident why they used to call him the italian Hitchcock than in BWTCP. great visuals, excellent morricone score, total package presented beautifully on blu-ray. definitely pick it up |

Its like this: Don't expect lots of blood or flying body parts. Movies back then were simpler and were shocking without being to obvious. Ex. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre-supposedly the bloodiest movie but has very little gore. Has more to do with the atmosphere, unlike the brain dead horror movies of this generation.

Buy'em all, but don't forget The New York Ripper. Great movie! Sleazy and violent as hell. And the Blu-ray just looks amazing! May be the best Blue Underground Blu-ray release so far. |

Wow Django on BD?! Can't wait. Really wish there were more great spag. westerns on blu-ray. Are there any other than the Good, Bad, and Ugly right now?
I agree blue underground is great although I wish there were more companies were doing it. Mondo Macabre is another good one but I'm not sure if they have put out any blu's yet I haven't checked. Clonus (aka The Clonus Horror) is a great one they put out on DVD if you like these sorts of movies like I do (for Movie Nights especially, I don't know what I would do without these smaller DVD labels). I have asked many times before if anyone knew what it take to get in to that sort of business - buy the rights to a movie, transfer to digital, put it out on DVD or Blu-Ray... there are so many thousands, maybe millions of great underseen movies out there that people want to see. Maybe a niche market but when companies like Criterion started that was a small niche that is now a larger one. I've thought that Yor, the Hunter from the Future and Megaforce would be two DVDs/BD I would release! |

DJANGO (Sergio Corbucci, 1966) Blu-Ray
Franco Nero stars as the lone stranger who roams the West dragging a coffin filled with chaos towards a destiny ruled by vengeance. Co-writer/director Sergio Corbucci (THE GREAT SILENCE, COMPANEROS) packs his landmark classic with indelible images, unforgettable performances and some of the most shocking brutality of any 'Spaghetti Western' ever made. This is the still-controversial epic that defined a genre, launched a phenomenon and inspired over 50 unofficial sequels. This is the one and only DJANGO! This definitive edition of DJANGO has been newly transferred in glorious High Definition from its camera negative, and includes the original Italian audio track featuring Franco Nero's own voice. Following extensive restoration work, Blue Underground is now proud to present the most stunning and complete version of DJANGO you will ever see! ![]() |

I watched The Toolbox Murders last week and I liked the film. I felt the first half was better than the second half. The transfer was really good for the type of film. I loved the tone of the first half of the film, like I said the second half wasn't as enjoyable. Just felt like it turned into another film.
Anyone else feel that way? It wasn't bad and I would watch it again for sure. Great transfer and sound and they inlcuded the original MONO track on this release. |
