Nope it just added a little more depth to the film. The clouds stood out as well as the house. It felt a little surreal. Very great experience.

Has anybody opened up their steelbook yet? I'm not sure if I like the middle part being plastic. Makes it look kind of cheap.

You'll enjoy it...consider yourself lucky for finding one...My store sold out before I got there... but then Amazon came out with the Monster $10 off deal so it turned out ok.

Up and Start Trek from Amazon on Black Friday for me

Last year Amazon sold Iron Man and Kung Fu Panda for $15, so I'm hoping for the same kind of deal this year. Maybe GI Joe as well, but I'm scared to buy it before having seen it.

i was thinking more of Monster vs Aliens will be one the titles that will be on sale this black friday.

What I meant was. Do kids wants really a heavy subject that is a serious issue like global warming to be forced in Animation they wanna watch for fun? Don't think so. If they want that obvious of a global warming issue, they'd just watch Home or An Inconvenient Truth.

I didn't say it's a bad thing to include the message or sense in the movie but Up did a perfect job in giving the audience on subject like Keep Moving Forward in you life no matter how sad you are. Move on and follow your dreams. Stuffs like that.

Ice Age has a really good way to 'hide' the message about Global Warming and make audience acknowledge about it.

So, in conclusion, I never said animation should never make sense but I say some people watch Animation to escape from reality and didn't expect a heavy subject to be the main part of the movie. it's just too serious.

ps. sorry i meant to reply a really short one but i couldn't help seeing you twisting my sentence.

Animation is not a children's medium. It is a medium, period. Grave of the Fireflies is an animated film. Would I show it to a six year old? No.

Throw on top of that tinderbox the idea that Wall*E is no different that legions of science fiction films which depict a future world decimated by human actions. Why do people so viscerally respond in defensive anger against Wall*E, yet sit back back and happily munch corn while watching other dystopian future films such as Blade Runner, Metropolis, The Road Warrior, The Terminator, Logan's Run, Rollerball, Strange Days, I am Legend, Silent Running, Brazil, Escape from New York, THX 1138, Dark City, Gattaca, White Man's Burden, Demolition Man, V for Vendetta, the Planet of the Apes movies, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, 12 Monkeys, Minority Report, Things to Come, Modern Times, 1984...you don't hear anyone complaining about these films and their depictions of a problematic Earth future.

So what is it about Wall*E that seems to deeply rankle some people? I really don't get it.
