i've always gone back and forth on wanting to learn how to play.

I've been using Garageband on my Mac and reading Guitar For Dummies only because I had no iota about guitars other than I like to hear them.

So far they have been pretty good...I have not gotten into learning chords yet but I now understand all the parts and can play small recognizable tunes like "Smoke On the Water", "Nothing Else Matters", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Wish You Were Here", and the four famous notes from "Shine On You Crazy Diamond".

My peak will be when I can play the solo from "Comfortably Numb".

I've been a guitarist since around '77, bassist and drummer since '75. Keyboards only sporadically, and only as needed\required by circumstance.

Didn't start singing seriously until the mid-90's, though.
