Haha, I don't mind polls, but I think these sorts of polls are just too much.

The only reason I can think of to add so many options to a poll is to cover everything, but the list clearly isn't exhaustive.

So now what happens if you have a long, yet incomplete, list of movies, which makes it hard to get any sort of comparison going, because I have to constantly scroll up and down to compare all the movies in the list.

Instead of making a poll with 30 options, I think it'd be better to just say "what's your favorite car movie?" and let people post their favorite. Just from reading through the thread we could start to gather which ones seem to be mentioned most often.

Save polls for smaller stuff, with 5 options or so.

I voted for Cars, because I actually like the movie, and didn't care to read through the rest of the choices.

There were so many movies left out to the point that contributors to this thread had to add them

Dude, seriously, do some homework.

Cars over Bullit?

Mine are, Le Mans, Bullit, and Ronin

This may be the case with CZAR' polls, but he gets a good list together. Can you name one question about films that would have less than the 200 poll answers.

CZAR does his best, and with doing these polls, he has a good excuse for not watching some of the classic films we have told him about.

Have you seen The Thing yet CZAR?

Explain again how Bullitt and Ronin are based on cars or auto racing.

Ronin and Bullit are films with some of the best auto chases in film history, that's not enough? Had the title of the thread said "Auto Racing" in the context of the subject being a Sport, then those films in my list would've not been included.

In the context of being a sport? How is auto racing anything but a sport? Films that include car chases are not necessarily "based" on cars. Don't tell someone to do their homework when you yourself don't know what you're talking about.

Read the title of the thread. ....based on Auto Racing or CARS. I mean c'mon, the OP should've made it much more clear. If not, I'll add John Cusack's 69 Camero from "Better Off Dead".

It has already been stated several times by moderators that these types of discussions are welcome to take place, but if they are going to be consistent, not every single one needs a poll....

I would vote for Gone in 60 Seconds, original and remake if they were in this poll. There are two movies about 100 cars in total. I prefer the remake though.

I remember seeing the original at the theater back in 74 and thought it was great, but I also prefer the remake

For this poll I have to go with Cars, love the FF movies, Driven, Days of Thunder, Cannonball and Gumball rallies back in the day, also enjoy Death Race. Couldn't wait to get rid of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - gave it away!!!! Bullit was also good as was Christine

Oooh, this is my kinda thread! My favorites are Days of Thunder and Cars, but I love Gone in 60 Seconds remake and Driven as well.

No love for Bullitt? Italian Job? Lol I know those aren't exactly based on cars, but they deserve an honorable mention.
