I wish someone like Target or best buy would do a sale price for it on Tues.
I work there so i can tell you that it will most likely be price cut down to $22.99 for the first week like they did with Interview and Beetlejuice.

Really I was at my local Super Target and I didn't see Beetljuice there... but that is cool news I know PALE RIDER was price cut the first week though - that is cool to hear.

Thanks for the heads up

I picked up Beetlejuice and it was priced at $24.99 at Target. Guess not all Targets got the full sale price.

Glad Poltergeist will though.

I got this movie today.

I've always loved the movie, but I don't really care for the digibook aspect of this release. It doesn't fit nicely at all with my other films because it stands taller and further out so I have to place it at the end of where I have all my BRs.

As for the picture, it's pretty decent from the sample scenes I've watched so far. Colors are nice, but the picture still looks dated and has some softness at the edges during only a few of the scenes. I was much more impressed by the Blu transfer of The Shining, which was pretty astonishing for a film its age. But to be fair, The Shining has a much more visual appeal to it than Poltergeist anyway.

Nonetheless, the film still looks the best it ever has. It's pretty clean though there are hardly any extras and the digibook packaging may deter some so I'd say this release is best suited for strong fans of the film.

Those are my two cents.

Watching it now, and I think it looks great. The colors really stand out more than they ever had. Scenes like at the beginning when Robby is looking up at the tree, the color on his shirt and the green look very good.

The packaging don't bother me, but I wish we got more extras.

No. All of Warner's pre-2010 releases just started up the movie. The closest thing to a menu you will get is once the movie is done to select special features.

New releases, like The Blind Side and Sherlock Holmes have menu's

It's being rereleased in a plastic case for those who hate digibooks. Exact same disc as before, though.

Question

Hello, I have a quick question here:

The original UK-release, does it actually come in the DigiBook-case?
Because when you go to the Amazon-website, they show a regular case.
The price still isn't bad, but it would be a really nice extra if it's still the DigiBook-version.
It's too expensive to import 1 thing from the US unfortunately.

I think the UK is only the regular BD case and the US got Digibook and normal BD case releases.

Oh... I thought it was weird the UK got a DigiBook-version.
But then I'd request they correct the page here:

The digibook is actually very cool with great information about the production.

Okay, but I'm just wondering which the UK-version is.
Since Blu-ray.com shows it as the DigiBook like the US-version, while Amazon UK doesn't.
It's also subtitled as the Anniversary-edition, but that might also be incorrect.
Then again, they often call it some kind of edition while it's nothing special.

Thank god! I have been waiting forever! They should have released a digibook and regular plastic case on the same day! I preordered it!
