Success. One store had two on hold, and three on display. I grabbed one of them. I headed to another store to check out the rental selection and they had four. Overall very happy so I can return my FS model which I got for 149.

So what is the cheapest way to get wireless on the S360? I'd love to be able to access BDLive but I don't have ethernet near it.

Got the last Gran Torino copy at my store. Too bad it didn't have the Slip cover though.

Maybe one of those wireless adapters? I don't know how they work or even if they would work on a Blu-ray player, but I'd probably try the same. The whole reason I wanted this player was that I wouldn't have to keep moving the PS3 back and forth between the living room and bedroom, so I'd like to be able to access the same BD-specific content, be it firmware or BD-Live.

glad to see a few of you were able to pick up those bd players. it was crazy at my store.. we had a lineup at 11am of 7 ppl outside. i got there at 11:30 and to save some ppl from waiting for nothing i told them there were only 4 in stock (we had 5, but i planned to purchase 1 for my dad as his christmas gift) the customers started complaining to me that every store should have 5 and they wanted to know what happened to the fifth one. i hesitated telling them i was buying one myself, but they sorta figured it must have been one of the staff and those who didnt get one were complaining about it and asking me to phone other locations to find them one. those of you who showed up at past noon and still got players are quite lucky... most of the stores i called people had lined up and the players didnt make it past 12:05pm. we musta sold 30-40 blus at my store (new, used) in the first 20mins from all the ppl grabbing the stuff on sale.

Hooked up the bdp-s360 which i purchased for 99.99 this evening and it would not display correctly, tried two different hdmi cables and two different tv's and the signal was all scrambled. I hope bbv takes it back without no problems.

I even tested my bdps350 (which is what i am using now at my gf's house) out and it works without no problems.

store policy for returns on electronic merchandise (from what i've been made to understand from my manager) is you have 14 days to bring it back and we exchange it for a new working unit. if we do not have any units in stock to make the exchange you are entitled to a full refund.

i would be pretty ticked off myself if i was going for one of those...they should either disallow employees from buying such sale items (which i'm sure you wouldnt like) or have extras orderable by employees ahead of time (which i'm sure you would prefer)

Well the problem is that head office probably already ordered X number and have them in a warehouse somewhere. Once stock at a store drops below a certain level then they would order more from the warehouse. Or so I assume it would work like that. They are probably clearing stock like FS is doing by pricing these to sell. Once they are gone from the warehouse, they are gone. Sony probably stopped making these models a while ago and have no stock left.

I agree though by allowing employees to order stuff it would save us a lot of trouble. Stories of FS employees hoarding sale items and leaving less for customers are frequent.

Saw two being held for employees or family members at one location, leaving three for sale. If I wasn't there early, I would have missed out. Though another one had four just lying there and not one person in sight to buy them.

i have mixed feelings about the issue. on the one hand i dont like employees hording sale items, however on the other hand i do agree there are perks that come with any job and in the case of retail.. alot of times whether at fs, bb or bbv employees will find out whats on sale first and grab it and thats just the way of the world. i would disagree with any company that didnt allow their employees to buy sale items.. but that policy can easily be stepped around if you had your friend just come in with you early and buy it on your behalf. on the other hand.. luck also has ALOT to do with it bcuz as you said, there are stores where im sure these players were sitting around for hours without anyone buying them...

I was lucky that I managed to snag one but if I was a person who was there that saw someone get one that was being held from them, I would be pissed too.

I can see how it is a perk for working but a manager should have a limits or some method to protect the customer's interest.

Oh well, tomorrow FS might drop these to 99. I have no idea as someone mentioned there might be surprised sale items. I saw these go from 179 to 149 to 99. I saved 81 dollars. More money for my blu rays lol.
