DiCaprio Bails on Mel Gibson’s Viking Movie
No one in with a career like DiCaprio in Hollywood is going to want to associate themselves with Mel right now. I mean seriously, have you heard those tapes. Obviously he needs some major counseling and needs to learn
how to treat women. It's really just sad.

Yea, I saw this story a couple days ago, that Leo's "reps" said he was not going to do this. SHOCKING!!

Good thing Mel made over $800 Million ($611 Million in WW Box Office alone, so I assume the rest is DVD/Bluray sales, etc.) with his "PASSION OF THE CHRIST", cuz' even if his ex-wife gets a good chunk of it, he's still left with plenty (not to mention the past 20+ years of $$$$$ he's made).

The movie would be better with no name actors anyway.

Yes, I've heard those tapes, and I am still waiting to hear back on the ruling of them. Parts sounded like him and others sounded nothing at all like him. I don't believe they are unedited. I think Oksana is a cold, calculating liar, there have been far too many facts pointed in the other direction against her and her lies, and until the courts prove 100% otherwise I ain't gonna believe it.

Seems like Dicaprio doesn't want to be associated with Gibson in any way obviously related to Gibsons recent racist rants to his ex. It's a shame because personal reasons aside Gibsons a very talented actor/director. Unfortunately doesn't know how to say nice things.

I find it amusing that when actors who get paid to be crazy and aggressive do anything remotely like that, their personalities show even a hint of it and people are like "Oh my god, he's a monster I hate him now" just look at the christian bale terminator fiasco. He blew up on some dipshit for ruining his shot and people still ***** and moan about it. These are people who make their livings acting crazy, and than when something is said that isn't to people's politically correct liberal standards they cry and ***** and talk about how much they hate that person now. I could give a damn what Gibson said in his personal life, whether it's real or not, or if he is crazy it's not as bad as what many other celebrities have done in their lives and get forgiven for. I have always been and will always be a fan of Gibson's movies, regardless of what the media tells me to think.

im glad leo isnt it... he didnt seem to suit a Mel epic

as to comments about Mels personal life... i think its clear that he was very passionate about his relationship and we've all been there where we've been deeply hurt by someone we gave our all to; so his emotional outbursts is a non-issue for me

(unless your some cold hearted baboon we've all said wicked things; the question of whether she deserves it or not is none of our business and cannot be answered by us as we don't have details)

I think we are hearing about of all this dysfunctional hollywood relationships, because so many more people are prying into their lives. We don't hear about other peoples dysfunctional relationships as much as hollywood. But sometimes its like we really just care about them as long as they make moves, other wise no one would be paying attention to his outbursts.

I wonder how Leo feels about a director who drugged and raped a girl in a hot tub when she was 13

Who's telling you what to think? I think Gibson is very talented. This won't stop me from watching Braveheart again someday, or finally getting to Apocalypto. But what's "liberal" about being disturbed by a man ranting and raving to that extreme? I mean, even Christian Bale's tirade. There's nothing liberal or PC about my opinion that he's being an unprofessional piece of s**t for treating a crew member that way, even if the crew member was wrong. Bale is showing tremendous disrespect for his director by taking over like that and his true colors as a spoiled baby are very very ugly, in my opinion.

As far as Gibson goes, I don't think it's PC or liberal to take offense to his wacky Jewish conspiracy theories or flinging "ni88er" and "wetback" around as much as he seems to. I think too highly of conservatives than to assume the're cool with such nonsense.

Like I said until it is proven to be 100% real, I seriously question the validity of those tapes and what he really said. I will always be a Gibson fan and I love his movies no matter what the media says. To me Michael Vick will always be the biggest piece of shit "celebrity" there ever was, so nothing Mel Gibson is accused of saying even compares to the heinous and disgusting nature of what Vick did. I have seen some sites actually claiming him to be the most disturbed and violent celebrity of all time. That is beyond horseshit. Even what Polanski did is worse by comparison.

Guys, there's already a thread on Gibson's tapes so take it here https://forum.blu-ray.com/hollywood-...ses-again.html please.

Well this is bad news. Oh well. Still looking forward to this movie.

That is too bad. I have only grown appreciation for DiCaprio's acting skill with each film I see him in. I do not initially think he is good for a Viking movie, but who knows? Guess we'll never know. I'm sure Gibson will make a great movie anyway; which will be nice since we have almost zero great Viking films.

What others have said about getting an unknown sounds good.

Mel Gibsopn + Dicabrio are in the same ship, I jump in it.
By the way, I think Decabrio is an amazingly talented actor.

Threads really old but...
Funny how Hollywood is shunning and burying Gibson for saying nasty, vile words, but they (along with European cinema) are open and forgiving to Polanski, who manifested his disgusting vileness in physical form (much worse) by drugging and raping a 13yr old girl and then running away and hiding from responsibility for it for 36yrs.

I would be much more ashamed to be associated with Polanski...yet look at the list of who he's worked with since he's raped a little girl.

Wow how random and pointless to bring up a completely unrelated thread
