Million Dollar Baby
Titanic Avatar was too derivative and the more often than not the CGI Navi were outacting the human characters. The movie was predictable because 80% of the script was scenes lifted from other movies. Its nice that the Academy is willing to recognize that Bigelow is also a better director than Cameron. Comparing Near Dark to Aliens, Bigelow got a better performance out of the same cast as Cameron. Heck even McG got a more consistent performance out of Sam Worthington than Cameron did. At least in T4 Worthington didn't flipflop between an American and Australian accent. Hurt Locker was more deserving of the honor than Avatar, but District 9 was a better movie than Hurt Locker. |
