Word is that scene was by request of Dino DeLaurentis and not something Raimi cared for, hence its exclusion from the Director's Cut. Still a nice scene and I hope this cut of the film gets its due on BD as well. The R3 DVD had both very good PQ and AQ compared to the other DVDs past and present.

Think I'll be spinning up that DVD tonight...

I have the R3 dvd but would easily buy a bluray of the same cut. The Uk blu is tempting though.
