Vampires Suck (Twilight Spoof) Review Thread - Page 4 - Blu-ray Forum

People know what they're getting into when they go to see crap like this. Sure, a person might have a little chuckle at something during the movie... but really, for a comedy, is one slight chuckle really worth paying the price of a movie ticket these days? If I'm gonna pay $7-10 for a ticket, it's gonna be for something that I know I'm gonna like and something I know is gonna be worth watching.

I certainly won't check it out, these movies are awful. The only good spoof movie since Austin Powers is "Not Another Teen Movie" If you have not seen that one, it is worth checking out.

Yeah, that one is actually really good. I caught it for the first time in awhile last month, and it was still pretty damn funny. Chris Evans really nails it.

Ok, so at the theater I work at this sold out at both 7:30 showings tonight and last night.

IT WAS ALL 12-15 year olds and they laughed so hard at every lame joke!

I don't think i would call those 2 spoofs. I would call them more satire then anything. When i think spoof i think Scary Movie, Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, ETC.... I look at spoofs more as taking direct ideas and scenes even the same plot and turning them "funny". Shaun and Hot Fuzz did not rip anything directly from any movies or atleast any i can think of. Instead it made fun of aspects of zombie and cop movies but did it in with a plot with whitty jokes and good acting. I am really just distancing Shaun and Hot Fuzz away from that garbage. I hate the idea of people thinking of Shaun and Meet The Spartans are in the same genre.

Well, be grateful for one thing:
With Disaster Movie, they'd thought have an instant franchise of making fun of all the summer movies before the fact (by just making jokes about the trailers while they were filming in spring), and then open in loser-August, when all the movies would have opened, and the jokes would've seemed "current"--That way, you don't have to write new scripts, or anything, and just do "Film Parody Yearbook 2009"
They don't seem to have done that this year.

Just the lame celeb-bashing rockstar jokes*, which constituted the other 9% of Spartans and Disaster's jokes.

(And, as with every Seltzer & Friedberg, it's time to take a look at RottenTomatoes, and play this year's game of "Okay, WHO'S The Wiseguy??

b) has seen the movie and feels so terrible about actually spending money on this tripe that their only solace is to ... give it five stars as a joke.

The same guys make these films, Friedberg and Seltzer. They make them really cheap and they make tons of profit in the first week to garner them a greenlight for the next film.

That was written by Adam Jay Epstein, who's had his one bit of fame taken away from him, and has been trying to recapture it ever since.

Well do want to know one thing about it...its already set to outgross Scott Pilgram. That alone is just...wow. This generation of people is really, really stupid.
