HD DVD promoters' favor trick is to keep emphasizing the Standalone players statistics and purposely ignore the PS3 numbers. Some people actually fall for it. Every PS3 is a BD player. It is a darn good one too. There are about 5 millions PS3 BD players worldwide at this point. PS3 sales add 400k unit every month. That is the fact they are scared to mention. That will totally destroy their HD DVD dream for future. Including PS3, the total BD players are 8-10 times the number of HD DVD players worldwide.

I didn't know whether to start a new thread about this or not, but I just checked on Amazon, and the top seller for video games is the HD-DVD 360 attachment (PS3-60GB was third), and the top seller in electronics is the Toshiba HD-A2 player. Either this HD heavy week is spurring their sales, or the uninformed peeps on the fence are picking a side.
![]() I think the BD studios need to release stuff from their library during the weeks when HD has a major release. I don't understand why there are 0 releases for some weeks. ![]() |

Interesting, although, for a good bit of those titles, it'll be some time before they vanish from the shelves completely. And they aren't being recalled either, just not producing new disks.
Which, I had thought, had been the case for all Blu titles except for 300 [again odd because of Warner's spin] and the titles who have been remastered/rereleased. But all in all, it is a significant point, that's about ~40 titles no longer in production. |
