I thought it was common sense. Rentailers are different than retailers. It's much easier to support both as a retailer because you can return ANYTHING and get credit from the stuidos. Rental product, you just invested and are stuck. If you can't turn a profit from it you are SOL. The fact these highdef formats are much more expensive than their DVD counterparts....it makes no sense to support both when one format is obivously much more popular. Blockbuster actually pays their customers to do surprise visits and grade that store. They take customer service serious. I really don't understand how you can say they are anti consumer. This is so funny, you think Netflix and Blockbuster are any different? They are about making money.....who would have thought. |

We have two stores in my area that rent blu-disk, non of them are hd-dvd or have any plans to do so. As far as selection it is lame at best, they only keep 1 copy per title so all the good ones are out pretty much 99.9% of the time since rentals last a week, and most titles are very old and they have no working plan as to when new releases will come in to the store. Like i said in other post i dont understand this half assed attempt at stocking blu disk's, either #### or get off the pot blockbuster.

I know customers love to say, hey just buy it because I'll rent it. That's great however I've noticed most stores have only a handful of people that rent Blu-Ray movies (I help run over 60 Blockbuster stores). When you are dealing with thousands of stores (as Corporate does) bringing in multiple copies for something that doesn't rent well is a waist of money. Now if they were to make rev share deals with stuidos, you will see more copies. Right now however, it's strickly paying full price for something that you are likely not going to even break even (at least for a month or two). Basically financially it doesn't make sense to invest more than what they are doing right now. Wait until after the 4th qtr.....if it's as big as it's supposed to be things will change next year. |

When BB came about, they seemed to purchase or buy out every movie rental place in town so they could be the only one. How many people here have seen two BBs across the street from each other? They bought out the competition, which is always bad for the consumer. They were very slow in adopting DVD since they didn't make as much money on it as VHS. Then they tried to get the rental window established for DVD, but luckly the studios told them to stick it. Then the lack of selection, large late fees, the high prices on their new DVDs, etc. While Netflix is far from perfect, they do provide a good service at a good price. |

As a Blockbuster shareholder, I'd invite you all to rent there as often as possible and spread the good word.
![]() I don't rent movies, but if I did, it would be at Blockbuster. |

Well then it's going to force me into looking at services such as netflix which seem to have a catalog of over 40 titles. I would rather use a store and hold it in my hand first but really in the last month they got one new copy of fantastic 4 and that's it, and of course it is out all the time. Right now saying blockbuster supports blu-disk is wrong, it's more like testing blu-disk. |

I can't rent at BB. I was always wondering why I had late charges on my account so I started to make sure that every single movie was returned on time....but guess what? If I didn't rent anything for a while then sure enough, there was a late charge on my account. I happened to mention this to a friend of mine and he had been having the same problem. Only he was doing something about it. He was bringing the movies back to the store and demanding a receipt of the ontime return. He caught them several times but even with the receipt in hand he would have to get the manager involved to correct it because the employees wouldn't do it. This is down right crooked. Something isn't right over there and they need some kind of oversight or auditing to make sure this doesn't happen. It's so rampent that it seems like it's built into their system. They're going to get your money one way or another. And on top of all that...."no late charges"....complete BS! I still know some people who rent there and when I ask them for details about late charges they say "yeah, under these circumstances blah blah blah, you can still get late charges. Sorry, no, I'll just use netflix or buy my own. Usually the rental price plus a late charge at BB just about equal the cost of a movie anyway.

Yup pretty much i think they charge full price of a 7 day rental everyday it's late which is why it runs up so quick, so if it is 3 days late that will be about a 15 dollar charge even though it's only 5 bucks to rent it for a week. Another way they get you is by making it a 12:00 noon rental return knowing full damn well most people are at work and wont be able to get there past 5pm making it late. I think i just pretty much talked myself into signing up for netflix tonight when i get home, hell waiting for them in the mail will still take less time then having to wait for the one copy they carry to return to the store. |

Stores in San Diego area have excellent selection of blu-ray movies for rent. I've been enjoying the online/in-store exchange program for a few months now. It's great. When I'm late with the movies, it is only $1.25 restocking fee. So, no problem here. I'm quite happy with Blockbuster!

I've started renting from BB recently, BD only, and I was very surprised to find the no late fees thing I knew about but the BB I rented from the BD rental fee is the same for BD as it is for DVD, remember back when DVD's were just starting to get into the rental places? it'd be like another buck or 2 to rent the DVD... BB has me as a supporter

Renting helps solidify Blockbusters position on Blu-ray. Renting is important. Hollywood Video is going out of business. All that traffic will be absorbed into Blockbuster and Netflix. Try Netflix to if you want. |

Renting supports Blu-ray and BlockBuster. Blockbuster went to bat for Blu-ray, we need to continue our support. Now the CE's need to start bringing out all those new players!!!! |
