Looking more hopeful for an individual Tron release? Want to get the 3D superset so was hoping they would release the original separately

This isn't doing Tron any release day blind buy favours. Frisbee anyone?

This might be worst coverart ever?

I've got a feeling the UK (single) release of TRON isn't going to materialise.

Much better. Send it to the studio. They might give you a job there just to say thank you!

I'm not keen on the Tron/Tron Legacy double pack myself. I prefer films in a certain franchise have their own individual cases. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

I won't be getting the 3D super set for the following reasons:
1. I don't have a 3D set up so I would have a disc that would never get used
2. Not a big fan of 3D anyway
3. Don't see myself upgrading to a 3D set up anytime soon

A digital copy is tempting, but not worth the money when the studio is trying to push a 3D set as part of the deal.

Looks like it'll just be the double play set (Blu-ray+DVD) for me.

I hope the original Tron does eventually get a single release. I loved Tron Legacy so there is a good chance that I would love the original Tron aswell.

Thanks I've added the dreaded certificates to the cover now. I think I'd like to see some shots of the original before I buy but I hope it looks fantastic on blu-ray. And Legacy should be reference quality material so I can't wait to watch it for the first time.

I'm going to be buying the 3D super set and the original on it's own and not joint with Tron: Legacy until the price for the twin pack cones down to around about £10.

Even if i don't like Tron i will be so proud to own it as i thank that film for getting Tron: L made.

That's what I'm wanting to do, apart from the fact that I'm not going to get the double set.

Although it looks like the original may only be out in the double set, because no where seems to have it up, not even as a placeholder. If it does turn out the original will only be available in the double set then I will be complaining to Disney UK, because that would be very unacceptable, especially when some would certainly only want the first one.

Wish they would hurry up and put a pre-order up, I want to start counting the days down for the 3-D BD's.

Cool.

I'm only gonna get the double set is when i own both of them separately and then in the future i would pick the twin pack up.

I hope the original does come on it's own as i don't really want to own them as a twin pack knowing that a part 3 might be coming soon... i hope.

If Tron Legacy comes with a slip, DVD and the only way you can get Tron is a double pack BD only release. Disney have shot themselves in the foot. They must know by now we like slips or O-Rings and don't like doublepacks bare-bones editions.

Had another play with the Tron cover, I colour balanced the border to match the coverart....

Maybe its just me but there is a very phallic design motif with that cover.

I'll be purchasing the double pack with Tron/Tron Legacy. Hope the original gets decent treatment, but Disney have a good track record so I trust them.

Seeing as though everyone's giving artwork a shot I figured I would throw one in the ring. Mine is obviously referencing chip75's use of the original poster art so hats off to chip75 for the inspiration.

I have used the original artwork and layered it to highlight certain areas of the image as well as tweaked the colours so they have a similar vibrancy to that of the Legacy artwork and better match the border.

I used the font for the original Tron typeface and recreated the gradient and bevel so that it looks similar to the original poster. I then added in all the Disney and ratings logos and retained the "Special Edition" title from the DVD so that it too matches the Legacy design.

I've included the official Legacy design for comparison:

I would love to see something using the original art and looking a little like this. The original art is so iconic it would be a big shame not to use it. Hopefully I've shown that with a couple of tweaks it can be made to look just as fresh as the Legacy art does.

From the original artworks, the best one is the combined cover for Tron and Tron Legacy. No silly borders, no stupid banner at the top (apart from the normal Blu-ray banner)

But there are so many possibility's for a cool steelbook for this movie, so I'm disappointed they aren't planning to release one (yet)

Yours is a lot better than mine mate. I'm a bit rusty in the Photoshop department and am rubbish with multiple layers etc. I like my 2nd one a bit more than the first, but your design includes such an iconic Tron image it should be on the cover. Disney should really go the glow in the dark route though....
