This being said I could assure you that DVDEMPIRE for example isn't any different than Amazon. Only until a few days ago they still had the "WB is likely heading to HDDVD" rumor posted on the Blu section.

There are other companies on the net with deals as good as Amazon's. Check out the specials forum. WB has a new coupon. I bought almost their entire catalog for 15 dollars each movie. Frs.com(outpost.com) is a good site to check out also.

Obviously the Neilson numbers are heavily over-rated in fact I have to wonder how much money and effort the BDA would give Blu-Ray if it was trailing HD-DVD. It would have to be more than they are now.

I remember seeing this thread when it was first posted and there were only a few posts. Frankly, I thought you guys were being a little paranoid.

Well I just checked out Amazon's HD 101 educational trainwreck and it is seriously messed up. I'm thinking Graffeo and Amir must have put that shit together.

Why did I go check out the Amazon stuff today? Becuase it was mentioned in this very interesting article...

Best Buy named leading high-def retailer

Quote:
NPD declined to report specific unit sales shares for each of the retailers but noted that Best Buy is far in front. Amazon.com and the rest are mostly clustered together for the second through fifth spots.
Might be time to sac up, spend a little more a Best Buy and tell Amazon to go... uh... have sexual relations with themselves.

I bookmarked it a long time ago but Amazon have completely changed their HD page. The sales numbers are changing on Amazon and now we know why.

Look at the FAQ's shown to buyers:
2. What's the difference between a DVD player and an HD DVD player?
7. What do all those numbers and letters mean on my HD DVDs and HD TV?

After you read one of the FAQ's you will be shown this:
"Back to the HD DVD homepage"

Gee thanks Amazon!
It says high-definition dvd, not HD DVD. Both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD fall into this catagory. It even says there are two formats of high-defintion DVDs, Blu-ray and HD-DVD.

They changed it a little while ago because people complained, that's what it used to say when it first came online.
