For showtime that's pretty good. More than Weeds, which is going on it's 8th season, and has had all previous 7 releases on blu ray. The finale for season 7 of Weeds had .56 million viewers.

That just doesn't make sense to me. I just figured every contemporary television show on a premium cable network gets released. You never go see a movie in the theater and wonder if it will get released in 4-6 months. What recent shows have not gotten a blu release?

The company that produces Homeland is a fairly small company so it might not be in their budget. At least that's what I heard.

I'm not sure of what shows on premium cable networks without blu releases, but there are countless hit TV shows like How I Met Your Mother which only released season 4 on Blu but it sold poorly and so for 5 and 6 they went back to DVD. Community season 1 and 2 is huge with fans (DVD sales are huge) but there are no Blus. Same for Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock. All shows with huge critical acclaim and lots of fans but no blu releases.

Every semi-popular premium cable show in the last several years that I can think of has seen a BD release. I'm confident someone out there will release Homeland on BD, it was IMO the best TV show since season 1 of Dexter.

I think a big reason why broadcast comedies (like the ones you mentioned) don't get released on Blu is that they are so easy to watch. If you miss it on free broadcast TV then there's hulu, or netflix, or streaming on CBS's own website. Also, they may think people don't care as much about the PQ or AQ for a sitcom.

FYI: wikipedia says "FOX 21" is the production company for Homeland. They are a division of 20th Century Fox another of their shows "Sons of Anarchy" has already been released on BD.

Last time I watched Weeds was like season 4. I REALLY went downhill after season 2. I can't believe that show is still on the air. It literally went to pot.

Weeds is done and the show went downhill after they left Agrestic which is season 3 or 4.

Popularity doesn't mean everything. One of the most important factors is who produces the show. If it was Warner, I doubt we'd even be having this discussion as they are good about releasing a lot of shows on Blu-ray.

Fox does release Sons of Anarchy on Blu-ray, but they also fail to release a bunch of their other shows. I hate to be the pessimistic one yet again, but I expect nothing from Fox until anything has been announced. I've been disappointed by them enough in the past. Of course, even getting the first season guarantees nothing since they have only released one season of a show and then stopped in the past (White Collar ), but I think I've been negative enough for now.

I'm not happy with the direction they took it, but the last two seasons were the first time I was watching based on how much I liked the prior ones hopefully they can come full circle and get back to what they did best.

Also, this isnt Game of Thrones where the beautiful vistas and location shots demand a blu-ray presentation. If they r looking to save money on the release, u can bet some bean counter poised the question, r people less likely to buy this if there is only a dvd version?

True, although it's not like Sons of Anarchy is exactly pretty like Game of Thrones either. It looks very good on Blu-ray, but still. I'm just going to wait and see on Homeland, but I won't likely be watching it if they don't release it on Blu-ray. As much as I'd like to watch this show, I already have a ton of other shows to watch.

I havent decided either. While it's the best thing Ive watched in a while Im not sure about re-watch value. A lot of what I like past the wonderful performances was how off balance it kept me. It's not gonna surprise me the second and third time unless I get more senile than I already am.

I don't think he told her. I think it was a assumption that he didn't deny.
