So, is this what happened to U3? The veterans moved on to a new project and left control of their premium franchise to newbies? I'm not knocking U3 too hard, I really enjoyed it, but the story wasn't quite as inventive or well told as the first two in the series.

If the style of play and graphics are akin to Uncharted 2, and they put as much into the story as they did the first two, this is definitely a game to look forward to. I'm excited!

I think it will be linear, like Uncharted.

An open world like FO but with graphics of uncharted standards would be truly amazing

I'm just the opposite. If it's an open world, my interest would drop dramatically. Nothing against RPGs, but what separates the Uncharted series from any other game is its storytelling. It's literally like playing a movie. The way I see it, that's what ND does better than anybody else. Not even Batman and Assassin's Creed have comparible storytelling. I'm not sure open world games of the magnitude of Skyrim and FO even can offer the same level of storytelling, because so much is left up to the player.

I'm not gonna put too much into what I think of Last of Us at this point in the game-screenshots and trailers doesn't give me much to work off of (heh! Dead Island and its viral trailer comes to mind), but I will say that so far I'm interested.

Sorry if this had been mentioned somewhere in the thread already, but does Ellie in the game bear a striking resemblence to actress Ellen Page? I just found out about this game today so forgive me for not reading/researching much more into the game

EDIT: NVM, I just read a page ago that it was Ashley Johnson playing Ellie. Funny about the dislike for Ms. Page. I neither like her nor dislike her, she's sorta down the middle of the line for me as an actress-both acting-wise and looks-wise. Tho' her performance in Hard Candy was what really brought her to my attention haha!

I found the praise for the Dead Island teaser last year kind of baffling because the CG quality was so average.

This blows that away. I can only think of Visual Works (Square-Enix) as an internal team that rival this and they work on an entirely different level, not working with the game engine so the look is never consistent with gameplay.

I asked Ashley Johnson (Ellie) on twitter if she was doing mo-cap for this and she confirmed she was.


Mo-cap really is the way to go this gen for smooth animations.
