I can't tell you why I feel this way about this particular movie, but I would welcome a new multichannel mix of the movie. If the original stems are still available and in okay shape and if the soundtrack music was recorded multitrack, which it probably was, it actually would be pretty easy to do.
Maybe I feel this way because if the movie had been released two years later, it would have been released in 70mm 6-track Dolby mag. And as it turns out, at least according to some sources, there were some 4-track mag prints of Jaws. IIRC, Carr & Hayes (which does get a lot wrong) claims that Jaws was released in stereo, although IMDB claims only mono. But of course I would most like to see a version released with both the original mono (if indeed there were no stereo prints) and the multichannel. Of course, even if released in mono, we're not really hearing it the way theatre audiences heard it because an optical soundtrack had a very limited frequency response. And if they still have the mono mag master, we'll be hearing a much wider frequency response. |

But, as long as the original mono is included, they can go to town if they want... don't care what else they do. |

They need to pay tribute to captain Jakes amity boat tours on either the Jaws or Jaws 3D disc.
Had a blast working on that ride for 10 years, cant believe they are shutting it down in less than a month to expand an attraction that isnt even from a universal studios movie. |

I can't believe they are doing that. So dumb, I'd rather ride Jaws which is a movie icon then whatever they have planned. |

![]() So if they're closing it down, it's going to make way for the Transformers BS then. The tour guide mentioned the new attraction after we went through the King Kong 3D tunnel, but she didn't say anything about Jaws getting closed down. God I hate Michael Bay. I was at Universal Studios a couple of weeks ago. My daughters got to see the backlot tour (and Jaws) for the very first time. I was telling them how the original shark they had there looked even faker than the movie shark with it's hinged mouth and half-body. I'm glad they got to see it. |

And yes, the lossless original mix (one channel or not) should definitely be included. |
