I'm probably going to go with JB for season 1. I assume their price of $69 is about the cheapest around?
Welcome Squid.
Not sure if you know already but there was an issue with the Audio for TNG series 1. Not sure if this has been sorted yet so you may want to wait for the re-release hits the stores (if it hasn't happened already).

JB Hi Fi NZ is selling this, but on their website they make a note about the audio problem, and that they are working to get replacement discs asap... I'm not too sure on ordering if from the to be honest, I don't know how the replacement system would work considering Paramount does not have a distributor in NZ anymore.. I don't know who does their titles now.

Yeah, I heard about that. I assumed that since JB pushed back the release date, they'd be the fixed versions?

By the way, I know that all 7 seasons getting released in Australia depends on the sales of early seasons, but how much of a chance does that have? How realistic is it to expect all 7 to come out do you think? Probably a hard question to answer I suppose. It would just seem a shame if CBS put all that effort into remastering the 7 seasons, only for them to not bother releasing them here.

^ Well they didn't bother with Season 3 of TOS even though it was done so that's about as much as one can surmise at the moment.

It appears it may be delayed even further though as in addition to the already identified audio issues it appears that a special effects shot featuring a missing phaser in the episode Heart of Glory on disc five will also be fixed. Other forums seem to mention that the US replacement program was pushed back a bit because of this.

Hmm, ok. Hopefully it isn't pushed back too far. Good that they're fixing it though I suppose. Would be nice if Season 2 is actually completed when it releases

JB looks to be competing with Big W over the price. They're now showing it for $68.98.

Picked season 1 up yesterday and from watching the pilot, I'm starting to think it's the pre-corrected version. During one scene (Riker requesting beam-up to the Enterprise from Farpoint station), the dialogue split between the centre and right speakers.

After noticing the audio issue on the pilot, the only other thing I've watched is "The Arsenal of Freedom".

I was told by Paramount that when the set was released this week, it would be the version with the corrected audio.

This once happen with my "Doctor Who - Series 5 soundtrack" I bought from the ABC Shop. With this CD, it was delayed due to an audio issue and I asked the distributor whether it's been delayed due to the problem. They said it was but when I listened to it, it was the pre-corrected one.

It turned out that it was delayed because it was delayed.

Did you end up checking the phaser effect in heart of glory to confirm if you have the corrected set?

I watched it last night.

The scene where Korris shoots the security guard with the phaser, the beam is there.

ok so you have the corrected set, but you're still getting an audio issue with the pilot when in 7.1?

Yes. The whole episode is fine with the audio except that one scene where Riker is requesting beam-up to the Enterprise. Just as he starts talking, the dialogue is divided between the right side of the centre channel and the right speaker.

Do you still have a contact at Paramount that you can relay this glitch too?
