Vince Mancini on this film:

Aftah da jump, Mahky Mahk an his shawt little fackin’ t-rex ahms stahs in the new trailah fa Pain & Gain, from that directah wit the queah haiyah who makes the transfawmahs movies. Back in the days when he was still busy beatin up awriental shawpkeepahs, befahr his brothah gawt famous from his queah music, we always told Mahky he should be a bawdy buildah. “Mahky,” me and guinea Mike usta tell ‘em, “the amount of muscle you could pack on those shawt little ahms a yoahs, you could be a regulah Lou Ferrigner!” But he nevah listened, just wanted ta sing his rap sawngs and take pictahs with his hands down his undahpants. Shuwah, he’s a famous movie stah now, but wit the right trainin, he coulda been the white Rawnie Coleman. Now hereey is, doin’ a bawdybuildin movie with the Rawk, and awl I can think is “I toldya so. Me an Guinea Mike, we fackin’ toldya so, Mahky.”

I heard Mahky Mahk woulda stawpped nine eleven, except his ahms were too shawt ta unbuckle his seat belt. Woulda prawbly just sat theyah, drinkin chawklit flavahed mass gainah from an extra lawng strawr.

This looks like the 1990's Michael Bay, I'm glad to see him returning more to his roots. He showed a lot of promise when he made things like 'The Rock' and 'Bay Boys', and this looks to live in the vein of those. I'm actually excited for this one.

I love Dwayne Johnson, but this will be by far his weakest film of the year, behind Snitch, Fast Five, GI Joe, etc...

This reminds me of when Ridley Scott did "Matchstick Men". It just doesnt seem like a project that fits the director.
So....anything the Rock does is NOT weak? What about The Tooth Fairy? That movie sucked!!

Nice to see Bay leaving that Transformers garbage for a while. I'm sure he'll be back, but in the meantime hopefully he can recapture what made The Rock so great. And he does have The Rock here, so that's good! And Wahlberg.

It's kind of weird saying this about a Michael Bay film, but I am quite excited for this thing.

Oh, I doubt that. With a cast like this and a premise like this, I'd say there is potential. It's hard to remember after 5 years of Transformers, but Bay does have the ability to make a decent film.

I have hated every single, solitary film he has ever made. After nearly two decades in the business, you'd think he would have learned something about how to properly shoot and edit a movie, especially considering the ludicrous amounts of money studios throw at him. His "Aaron Burr" Got Milk? commercial remains the artistic pinnacle of his career, and that's really sad.

Oh, fair enough.

I for one love The Rock (mind you, I am a Cage diehard, so that might affect my judgment), and don't mind The Island. I consider Will Smith my least favorite actor, but of all his films, the ones that annoy me least are the Bad Boys films. So I guess we are coming from different perspectives. I do have unmitigated hate for most of his other stuff, though.

Reviving this old old thread since this flick's coming out in about a month. I'm definitely looking forward to it since I love Michael Bay's older stuff and am not ashamed to admit it. I even have personalized autographed copies of Pearl Harbor and Transformers 2 to back it up... Even though I've only seen the latter once and it's more than enough.

Either way, even if I hate Hollywood gossip, TMZ ran this piece earlier.

It doesn't really add much to the conversation but maybe some people can get a laugh out of it.
