There is a lot they could expand on that we aren't seeing going on, but yes I do agree that based on content alone there isn't enough for 2 movies. I do have trust in Lawrence (Director) and Collins to be able to come up with a good couple of movies.

If they need filler, than give us filler. It is going to be 2 films no matter what so I would rather them gives us some more meat to the story rather than getting 2 films with only skin and bones. Plus, Knepper is awesome so he is always welcome.

His character was pretty consistently fantastic IMO. Very dark but the writing and performance made him somewhat relatable.

With a little twinking they could have done a solid ending then. There was some good stuff afterwards though.

It'll be interesting to see if he's a "hero" or "villain" this time.

In the first two films, Snow had Seneca and Plutarch to scheme with. In Mockingjay, he's going to need someone outside his conversations with Peeta to do the same (especially in Part 2) so it's nice to see them creating this character. More surprises for us fans .

Finished reading Mockingjay today. I absolutely loved it. Great story.

[Show spoiler]It was dark, depressing, heartbreaking, shocking and sometimes downright evil.

Many people have issues with how it ends. I think the book provides the most logical way this story could have ended. Absolutely perfect.

[Show spoiler]Sad, but beautiful. It gives us new hope.

Now, having said that, I don't think 2 movies are necessary in order to tell this story in grand fashion. A 2 1/2 hour movie would do just fine imo. I think the split will happen either when:

[Show spoiler]1) Peeta strangles Katniss
2) Katniss gets shot
3) Prim dies

They need new story elements and characters to make this whole "2 movies thing" work. But I hope they don't screw it up with lame and unnecessary stuff, that doesn't make any sense at all. Here's hoping for a grand finale!

That's what I've been saying, guessing the more violent and gruesome scenes will occur off-camera. Oh well, looking forward to Moore as President Coin, should be a compelling performance.

Yes. Very excited for Moore. I like her a lot. She's a great actress and I could totally picture her as Coin while I read Mockingjay.

District 13 should be a lot of fun, I wonder where they will film the scenes for that.

I don't think they'll end it with

It's a little too obvious with everyone expecting it and thinking it's a good cliffhanger. It's more of a wtf cliffhanger than a good one.
Non-book readers will be watching this movie of Katniss becoming the Mockingjay and trying to fight the Capitol while desperately wanting Peeta back and end the movie with getting him back and choking her?
I don't know I just kinda hope it's not it especially for time reasons with how they'll manage to fully develop the process of changing Peeta back in the last movie. It feels like more of a climax to me for the first part.

But there's also this person on tumblr who apparently has an inside access on info regarding the movies right now and has been answering people's questions about Catching Fire and Mockingjay. So far they've been right about everything for the most part. They've read the script for Part 1 and said it won't end with Peeta choking her.
(But who knows it could probably change )
