Oh god, I know. They need to sort him out! He's such a cool guy and he looks great in the films. It's just nobody put any effort into making them. From writing to directing. They need to hire some real people to make a decent GR movie. It's insulting not only to us as Marvel fans but to to Marvel themselves!

I hope Marvel gets him back so they can do a Midnight Sons movie with Blade, Daredevil, Punisher and Ghost Rider or something.

When the second Ghost Rider trailer hit cinemas, I thought "this is it, they've finally managed to capture what he's all about". It wasn't a crap-out like the first, where they toned down the violence to allow younger people to watch it, and it looked completely dark and real (even though Nicholas Cage really is the wrong actor to play that part). And, in an interview with the directors, it really seemed like they knew how to treat the character and make him more bad-ass like he is in the comics.

Look how that one turned out - a complete, deranged mess that is probably even worse than the first.

I was exactly the same. I saw it and thought "brilliant! It's getting straight down and dirty with the violence now that he is GR and doesn't have to go through the whole thing of becoming him".
After watching it it made me appreciate the first one a hell of a lot more!

Reboot release date!

Quote:
With The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past already on track, 20th Century Fox's next big-screen adaptation based on a Marvel Comics property is the Fantastic Four reboot. And according to Exhibitor Relations, the reboot has been given a release date, which slates the all-new take on Marvel's First Family for a premiere in the same year as Star Wars Episode VII, maybe Justice League, and of course the other anticipated Marvel superhero ensemble flick, The Avengers sequel.

The new Fantastic Four film will hit theaters on March, 6, 2015! In addition to the release date, Fox also announced that The Wolverine, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters will all be 3D releases. No surprise there. Anyhow, directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, who officially signed on back in July, the reboot is being penned by Jeremy Slater, who promises a take on the superhero team that “fans deserve.”

The first two original films, Fantastic Four (2005) and Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), were directed by Tim Story and starred Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans (now Captain America) as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm/Thing. About the reboot, there were several casting rumors years ago when development of a new film was announced. But with a release date now confirmed, who do you think could play the team?

Damn. It doesn't feel like it's been that long, but wow.

Glad this finally has a release date. I have a feeling we'll be hearing some casting soon as well. It'll be interesting to see who they get for this one.

At least it's in capable hands with Trank - although he's been plucked just because he did that "awesome superhero movie", Chronicle was brilliant and was directed really well.

It'll be interesting to see who they cast in this as I was impressed by the last lot. I especially thought Chris Evans was great as Johnny. Not Marvel's best films but I still enjoy them

Chiklis, Evans--great. Alba, Grouffold, McMahon--awful.

Casting will be key.

An intelligent, forceful, commanding Reed is imperative. A powerful, driven, intimidating Doom even more so.

Not a CEO-- a freaking meglomanical, genius, terrifying dictator.

I actually liked the first one even if not alot did. I feel that the second could have been alot more. But they used it as a way to introduce the SS for his own spin off film. and in the process killed both franchises for the moment.

I hated how they almost made the FF background players in their own movie.
