I know that it is a viva case, I just don't like typing the whole thing out. So basically, the same rule applies as a steelbook. The $7.50 you put down goes toward the movie on release day.

It won't include anything. Best Buy will be offering an empty case as a pre-order incentive.

You go in, find the empty case on the shelf and carry it up to the register. You'll probably get asked which version of The Avengers you want to pre-order (ie regular BD, 3D BD, DVD, etc. just like the Ghost Rider SB from a few months back).

Then, when The Avengers releases you go back to Best Buy with your receipt and pick up your copy and they take $7.50 off the price. (typically done by "returning" your pre-order deposit on the same receipt that they sell you the actual Avengers movies).
It'll cost $7.50 (like all of the previous Disney Viva Metal Box cases).

In general, for the US release the only way your getting a digital copy is if you order/pickup this version.

As Disney is in charge of the release by and large, it is anticipated it will not have UV- just "classic" DC.

They don't seem to care if you buy the bigger collection type versions. IE I pre-ordered Pirates 4 with the Viva and used the deposit towards the 4 movie collection; Muppets viva got the Lunchbox set, etc.
I am planning on try to get the Phase One set at Best Buy (have $60 RZ cert from the wine offer). Then just display the Avengers Viva with the Thor/CA SB's.
