Hopefully indeed. I'm not gonna pay for 10 films in one boxset when I already own 3 of them (plus Freddy vs Jason)!

Can't wait to hear more information about this. This is going to be fantastic. Even if Warner Bros. only releases the Theatrical versions, I'll be ecstatic. It'll be more than what Paramount has done.

Paging CZAR! This thread awaits you.

I own 1-3 as well, but will gladly double dip for these. I just hope they port over the deluxe edition extra features from the dvds for parts 4-8. We'll see.

This is great news. At least Warner are likely to do something with them even if they aren't likely to do uncut special editions etc. What I suspect we'll get is a box set with everything from the SE DVDs and the current HD masters that are available. I'm really just hoping the New Line films are included. Jason X is awesome and insanely underrated.

I finally got around to buying the first two movies on blu for $5/each during the Best Buy upgrade and save sale, so I'll surely double dip on a box set if one comes around with minimal loss. I was worried we may never see any movies beyond 3 released, so hopefully Warner will do us good here.

I'd buy a boxset they need go back to parts one 1-3, as the guy who did the deluxe editions did'nt get onboard until part 4 so he said he never had the chance to look for cut footage from parts 2-3.

Part 1 is obviously already out uncut
Part 2 no search
Part 3 no search
Part 4 has all the cut footage found minus the sound
Part 5s is missing
Part 6's is all found and with sound. Just needs colour timing
Part 7's was destroyed in 1990 bar the workprint
Parts 8's is all found and with sound and again needs colour timing.

While im happy Warner got these, why did Paramount give the rights? This was a big franchise in the 80s.

Yeah, blame that on Siskel and Ebert and the other anti-slasher nazis who gave them hell back in the 80's.

Very interesting. I had heard that a search had turned nothing up. Do you have a source for that?

No i just remember Daniel Farrands who did the deluxe editions for Parts IV - VIII saying that he would have loved to produce deluxe editions for parts 2-3 and had a look for the footage.

There's another bit somewhere i can find at the moment, this sort of says it.

Part I may have seen its definitive edition, but I'm convinced there is more to be found for Parts II & III. So once Paramount decides to release a new version (hopefully on Blu-Ray!), they have assured me they'll give me a call and let me and my team go off on another "Jason hunting" trip. I would be thrilled to do it. (We all know about the legendary ending of "Part III" where Chris is decapitated -- I'm hell-bent on finding it!)
