There are now pre-order listings appearing on Amazon and importCDs for the first 3 'Friday the 13th' films being released on Blu-ray from Warner Bros. this January 1, 2013! Not that they are going to be any different than Paramount's but, this does confirm Warner DOES have them.

Incredible news! I just hope they definitively do the rights things by releasing a full box set as well as uncut versions and giving these films the deluxe treatment they each deserve. Call up Red Shirt Pictures to handle the special features and this set will be a beauty.

A complete boxset with Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X would be nice. I'm not sure if I'd want the latest one included since it was a quasi-reboot. Most fans probably already own Freddy vs Jason. Offering uncut versions and giving us real 3D for part 3 would make it a must-buy.
Heck, if they wanted to they could make a UCE with all of the Jason AND Freddy movies. Last edited by Drewza89; 10-20-2012 at 09:39 PM. |

There's no reason not to include the New Line entries since Warner Bros. owns them ("Jason Goes to Hell", and "Jason X"). In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they did a release with the remakes even and even re-issued "Freddy Vs. Jason" which would split a lot of people who own the releases already, including the first 3 Paramount ones.
I'm already somewhat pissed we may be in the situation where we might have to re-buy the Paramount releases all over again, if we are issued a mega box set of sorts. We know they're capable of it, look at the new "Nightmare on Elm St.", no complaints on the execution and how well it was done, but the no word of warning shit is what I really hate about this business. I almost expected them to finish releasing them in the fashion they did "Nightmare on Elm St. 2 & 3." Warner if you listen to the fans, give us a be all, end all, everything including the kitchen sink box set release. I mean Christ I'm still holding onto the very first "Friday the 13th" box set on DVD because some of the blu-rays neglected special features that we're on that box set, including Part 3's very fun commentary track. Wouldn't all the MPAA cut footage be in pretty rough shape now, or were there some uncut film prints floating around in different countries like with the original?

Good news indeed....however, I'm worried that Warner would release a box set just like the Nightmare on Elm Street one with two movies per disc.....I prefer, if that's the case, then I would prefer to get them individually.
