Browsing through the blu's in HMV and came across GiTS: Innocemce for Ł8

It did go out of print a while back and was selling for stupid money on eBay. I guess Manga got the rights back for it?

That packaging for Children who Chase Lost Voices is pretty. I've already bought the US release though which I know looks and sounds phenomenal and has great extra's. Unless there's exclusive extra's to this set other than an art book which doesn't even look very meaty, I can't justify spending that much on a double dip. I got the US release for $15.

Can't argue with that price, I even paid for first class delivery and it's still nearly Ł7 cheaper than everywhere else hopefully Amazon get it out on time for a change.

Perhaps Eva 3 will be playing in some independent cinemas before Blu release. I'd go see it, either way, I want it now

I would love to see in in the cinema. But I know none of the cinemas around my way ever show "smaller" films.

I once saw the complete TV series in that steel Tin at HMV for Ł70. Back then of course, I wasn't aware of Eva, so I dismissed it. Suffice it to say, when I look back on it...

I loved the TV series. I still prefer it to the Rebuild. But they deviate quite a lot from the series. So you won't have a clue how the rebuild will end.

Eva 1.11 sticks pretty close to the series and the frst half of 2.22 everything after that is pretty different.

Oh that's too bad, that is supposedly the best release on DVD!

I got this "budget version" on Rightstuf. I don't really care much about packaging but it does have all special features from the various DVD releases, plus Director's Cut episodes, so i'm fine with it.

I also sought out End of Evangelion for when i finish the anime. Unfortunately the only English-friendly DVD is 4:3 letterbox so if you're watching on an HDTV you get black borders on all 4 sides... Oh yeah, and it's out of print! Guess i'll have to watch it through more "unconventional means"

So it's like FMA vs FMAB then! Awesome

New UK Anime Distribution Company Launching in 2013

Andrew Partridge speaks about forthcoming company distributing anime on home, cinema and digital formats.

A new anime distribution company is due to launch in 2013, set up by Andrew Partridge of Kaze UK and Scotland Loves Anime. The name of the new anime label is not confirmed yet, although the underlying company is called Anime Limited. It will release anime on home and digital formats, and also in cinemas. ANN conducted an interview with Partridge about the new company, available here.

On TV anime, Partridge says his goal is to "take a select number of archive and new titles and elevate them to a Criterion-style release." For cinema releases, his aim is "to develop a theatrical market for Japanese animation over the next five or six years."

Partridge cannot confirm any specific anime titles at this stage, but says he will start "talking content" in early January. He says that, “For film, I have some nice surprises over the next few months. For TV, I have two contracts signed on my desk and a ton more on their way." The first home releases are likely to be in the late second quarter of 2013, Partridge says.

The label's website will be launched in January. For now, it will have an online presence at the following places:

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/alltheanime

Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/alltheanime

Looks like 2013 will be a good year for UK anime fans!

EVA 3.0 will probably come out on Blu Ray around the Holidays 2013, so there's plenty of time to save up

Maybe we will finally get 5 Centimeters Per Second on BD?

I'm just glad Manga UK will have to compete with som competition now. Should get the UK market in a bit of a tiz

I'm assuming they will be BD releases as well as DVD, don't think it specifiacally said what format the new company would be releasing on but they would be crazy not to do BD.
