So have there been any updates on Lionsgate's 3D conversions? Crank and The Descent, mostly?

I didn't hear about Gamer 3D breaking sales records, so I'm assuming it didn't do so well? Would Lionsgate still pursue the other conversions they were planning?

Popped in the Saw movies and saw a preview for The Descent. I forgot that Lionsgate said that they would convert it. Over a year later and no 3D Descent or Crank. Seeing as no copies were pressed, it seems they never made it passed the idea stage.

I agree I, Robot 3D wasn't a total loss, the action had some effective 3D. I need to give it a rewatch to be honest.
Probably only due to the Pulfrich effect.

These were canceled then? Not a big deal as the 3D was barely worth it IMO, since most of it was mild. Oh well.

They needed to concentrate the funds into one really great conversion and avoid trying to crank out a bunch with mild 3D.

Okay, thanks. Hopefully they crank up the 3D for Crank and the other releases in 3D.

Bump... I'm a fan of Lionsgate Films. So I've been sorting my 3D Collection. Here's what I have so far. Not saying it's complete by any means or the 3D is any good. As you can see some titles talked about in this thread. Did make it to disk!

It's important not to mix up German autoconversions with genuine 3D titles, be they native or converted. 31, Cabin Fever, Daybreakers and Z for Zachariah are worthless German autoconversions, I wouldn't class them alongside the others. Nobody should be under any impression that these are proper 3D titles.

Another one is Locked Down in 3D starring Vinnie Jones, that's a Lionsgate title but the 3D version is just a terrible German autoconversion. The film is also horribly censored, making the disc even more of a complete waste of money.
