More conversions. Too much conversions.
Don`t like this; "new Lionsgate titles will also be converted to 3D before their theatrical release." http://www.3dfocus.co.uk/3d-news-2/l...es-to-3d/11689 edit: Already posted in the 3D is dead thread: http://news.yahoo.com/lionsgate-sams...GFnZQ--;_ylv=3 Last edited by eriaur; 01-10-2013 at 06:36 PM. |

I do like quality conversions like Titanic and Avengers but something tells me that this is going to be the 3D equivalent to Lionsgate pointlessly upmixing 5.1 tracks to 7.1 and 11.1

The Descent hell yes
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hopefully they convert Part 2 as well. It better be a good conversion though and not some junk, otherwise I won't purchase it and stick to 2D. |

The Descent is the only one out of the announced that I would be interested in. If it gets bad word of mouth like the i Robot 3D BD I wouldn't bother though.

you only have to look at Fright Night to see that overly dark movies struggle with 3D and that was shot natively...imagine the problems with a film like The Descent
And lets face it, as with the problems with I Robot, they are all going to look like they have been filmed with an old walt disney plane camera |

CRANK!!!!!!!
F-Yes!! This is one of the movies on my 'man I hope one day this gets a conversion but will probably never happen' list. Fingers crossed they do a good job. The Fox I.Robot conversion showed promise but was not that good. If Lionsgate takes similar technology a step or two further this may end up working well. Oh, and... CRANK!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

2) Decent is very well lit so it would not have a problem. |

"The home entertainment market is ripe for a premium technology like 3D, and consumers have consistently demonstrated their willingness to pay for added value," Jim Packer, Lionsgate's President of Worldwide Television and Digital Distribution, said in a statement. "Lionsgate is committed to being an innovator in enhancing the quality of the home entertainment experience for our consumers, and Samsung is an ideal partner to help us fill the release pipeline with commercially exciting films in the best 3D picture quality." If by "Best" they mean they're going to make sure the 3D is medium to strong 3D, then I'm aboard. But it has to use Titanic's 3D as it's template, the goal to strive for with their conversions. Titanic with strong 3D most of the way. I like the stat about 6.4 million homes with 3DTVs. ![]() The Descent was a cool monster horror movie. Anyone have a listing of Lion's Gate's film properties of potential conversions? Here's a link of Lions Gates Movie Library: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ionsgate_films Of them, I'd most like to see converted to strong 3D, the following: Devil's Rejects in 3D The Descent in 3D RAMBO in 3D. Heck yeah. My number 1 pick for a conversion. Transporter 3 in 3D Safe in 3D The Expendables 2 (and even 1) in 3D (this would be awesome if it's strong 3D) Upcoming: Leprechaun in 3D (reboot) Dead Island in 3D (based on the game) |

I'd love to see more 3D horror, and Lionsgate loves them some horror movies.
I wouldn't mind seeing The Eye, Stir of Echoes (That floating chair scene!), Jacob's Ladder, or The Haunting in Connecticut in 3D. (For that matter, I wouldn't be too surprised if The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia gets a conversion for theatres as part of this.) |

Yes, Cabin Fever, Stir of Echoes both in 3D I'd watch again.
I haven't seen KickAss yet, but hear there will be a sequel. Haunting in GA in 3D I'd probably see in theaters if it happens. The documentaries from the "A Haunting" series are better than the movies, (at least the Haunting in CT), but these could be effective for 3D horror. I'd love for a studio to bring out Kubrick's The Shining in strong 3D. I doubt Kubrick would have allowed it though if he was still around since 1999. |
