Well, it is - it's just odd that they went for
[Show spoiler]the final scene of the film (well, except for the final final scene...)
. It's a nice image though, an unusual choice as it looks like a still rather than the usual polished cover art, but nice nontheless.

Nice. I like this more than the 3D artwork:

That's not the artwork - just a temp one that was put up. That scene isn't in this film, it'll be in Desolation of Smaug.

Weird that the 3D artwork is a scene from the second film. Even as a temp.

Seems like an uncharacteristically reasonable price for the 3D version. I had assumed that it was the 2D combo for $25.19 and the movie-only 1-disc for $20.99, with the 3D yet to be listed.

I out in my pre-order for it just in case it is the 3D at that price. The URL on Amazon mentions 3D.

I also pre-ordered just in case. That page now says sign up to be notified when it's available.

I'll be picking up the 2D version on the first day of release. Never seen the movie in theaters. Pretty excited to finally see it on Blu-ray.

Hoping they honor the pre-order of the 3D version at the $25.17 price. I received an order confirmation email and when I go to the product's page it says I ordered it.

This AND Zero Dark Thirty on the same day? And just one week after Life of Pi? Expensive few weeks...

Skipping the 3D as I'm sure the EE will be in 3D, going as barebones as posable, as I'm sure many are. I can already see this being dirt cheap come Black Friday.

Not as excited about an EE of the Hobbit movies as I was LOTR. That coupled with the fact that I'll be overseas again long before Black Friday, now is the time to pick up the 3D for me if I can manage to get it for $25
