In a properly darkened viewing environment, the eye perceives relative whites such as these as crisp, clean whites, bright blues as perfectly bright blues, etc. As has also been stated, it's extremely rare to see pure whites in any film nowadays unless contrast has been cranked to the extreme.

Any further discussion of a tint (green, teal or otherwise) should only focus on one's subjective appreciation (or lack thereof) for Peter Jackson and Andrew Lesnie's specific color grading choices and filmmaking intentions in HAUJ. Images and screenshots can be tweaked all day long, but the same could be done to The Matrix, Underworld or any other film with stylized color grading. It doesn't highlight a problem, just an inherent element in the color grading.

So, this cannot be it! And Beron's pic with Gandlaf was released way before the movie was announced as a Trilogy. They must have put that scene in An Unexpected Journey, when There and Back Again was considered to be Part II, the concluding part. Now, I suppose we shall see him in The Desolation of Smaug.

I'll probably just pick it up and then wait for the extended trilogy set that will eventually come out.

I was in FYE yesterday and they have a Poster up for The Hobbit with a release date of March, 19th 2013. Wish i had had my phone with me, i would of took a pic.

Peter Jackson has already warned people that an Extended Version is coming with 20+ minutes of new footage...I can wait as The Hobbit is no LOTR

Agree 100%. Liked the Hobbit, but LOVED LOTR Waiting for the extended cut...

The extended edition will probably be released right before Desolation of Smaug hits theaters in December. I'll just do what I did with LotR. I'll buy the theatrical, and when the extended version is released, I'll just sell the theatrical and put that money toward the extended version.

I'm really surprised that the theatrical BD is coming out this soon.

This will be a blind buy for me. I'll buy the theatrical on release day, but I'll wait for reviews on the extended edition before I determine if it will be a necessary upgrade or not.

I'm conflicted on what to do with this one in regards to the theatrical vs EE. I have mixed feelings on the LOTR extended editions, but ultimately think the EEs are superior, so that's what I brought on Blu (after double dipping on DVD). I really don't want to double dip on The Hobbit. I have a suspicion that the extra footage will be less necessary for this one, and the theatrical will be my preferred cut. However... I obviously won't know that for sure until have I've had an opportunity to actually watch the EE, which won't be for many months.
