Absolutely. I love seeing them go to new genres. I think this could be huge for him.

I could see why they choose him if true. He's a more well known name than the others. But as a writer and or director you always gotta be pushing yourself for something new and exiting.

Definitely. I loved the hell out of 'Death Sentence', which I think is a terribly underrated film, and it showed he could shoot some very good action. He's a really nice guy, and I think he's very talented. It'll be great to see what he does here. I wonder if he'll try and mimic Lin's style, or do something different. Definitely very intriguing.

James Wan has put enough work into his body of work to get something as big as Fast and Furious, so I'm happy for him.

Although the post production of Insidious 2 will probably need to be rushed if they're planning to have this filming over summer.

Well, 'Insidious Part 2' comes out in August, and this is suppose to shoot in September, so they should be ok. He'll just have to do double duty doing post on one, and pre on the other.

Yep, Good for him. Two movies this year, one moved up to Summer because of such great reactions and now FF7.

He should be about down with 'Insidious Chapter 2' and 'The Conjuring' already. He's submitted his cut of 'The Conjuring' to the MPAA, so he's probably primarily focused on post for 'Insidious'. I think he'll be able to balance everything really nicely.

I know The Conjuring was rated R by the MPAA. I wonder if WB will accept that or ask him to trim it to PG-13 for them. Plus this would be the hugest budget he's ever worked with.

It's staying R. The studio is allowing it, and when they asked the MPAA what they could do to get a PG-13 rating, which they had filmed with in mind, their response was "There's nothing we can tell or give you feedback about. The film is just too scary to be PG-13." He legitimately made a film, completely just using atmosphere, no blood or guts, and landed an R. The studio believes in the movie so well much that they're letting it keep its summer release, with the R rating.

Dumbest thing I ever heard the MPAA say for giving a rating. Has to be something else their not saying, besides "it's too scary" if that was the case shouldn't Insidious been R too then?

From what I've seen so far, it's scarier than 'Insidious'. The atmosphere in this one is insanely creepy. I love it.

If that's the case I guess were just have to wait and see if it pays off. I'll be seeing it release week.

A different tone for this movie might be good, adding some suspense in with the story/action might be a good turn for the series.
