I felt the same way about the "on the surface" trailers, which showed a lot of comedy but little of the story the movie has. Fun movie.

It contains some very deep racing sequences.
Yes, the end raced lived up to my expectations of an epic Indy 500 race. Great 3D also.

Yes, maybe they're checking out the competition to see the best time slot to release this.

Strong 3D. Enjoy!

Last I heard The Croods is October 1, 2013 for Blu Ray 3D.

Will this be region free, or will it end up being locked since DreamWorks' films now are distributed by Fox?

Epic, or Leafmen, as I call it, is region free even though it says A on the back of the cover. Maybe there's a chance?

I have a standalone region free player (of course!), but it doesn't support 3D. I use my PS3 for that. The PS3 isn't region free however.

DVDWorldUSA has added a status "confirmed multiregion" and they always have the right info - I believe they test the discs, as they sell mostly to the UK:

The back cover of the US Prometheus 3D Blu-ray disc from Fox also said A only, but it was actually region free, so I tend to believe them.

Strong 3D in the Croods. Fun adventure movie with 3D along the lines of Avatar, especially the jungle scenes.

Cage actually delivers probably his best performance in this movie believe it or not, as the concerned Father. But yeah, otherwise, his acting can be very monotone most movies.

The Croods movie has some fun, violent slapstick humor taken out of the frames of Looney Tunes with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, etc. More than any kids animated movie I've seen in years. Good stuff.

The Croods looks awesome in strong 3D. (posts moved into this thread from October 3D thread).

If this is 24.99, I'll pick it up Oct 1.

Awesome price for a Dreamworks 3D title. This is a must have. Thanks DB5.

For those who haven't seen the movie, The Croods movie is an adventure, where they're constantly on the move discovering new landscape, trying to find a safe home while dealing with lots of danger on the way. The monster designs are pretty far out and creative.

3D in The Croods is comparable to Madagascar 3 3D, and stronger than Turbo's 3D I'd say.

Pre-orderd the 3D from Amazon and the price is still $29.99. I thought for sure they would lower the price of the 3D to match Best Buy at $24.99. This will be my last Amazon pre-order for a new release non catalog title if they don't lower the price.

They will lower it. For some odd reason, they choose to match some titles on Monday or Tuesday when they could just get it out of the way all in the same day. The price has been $24.99 on Best Buy's website for days, so there's little excuse, but $24.99 is what we will end up paying via Amazon when it's all said and done.

Im guessing this was quite popular in the cinema here to make us wait till December 9th for the 3D release..to be honest, im pleased..im now able to purchase it as the releases have spread out a bit.

Watched this over the weekend and the 3D and visuals are as usual gorgeous DREAMWORKS quality. I just so wish they made this full screen like Madgascar.

As far as story goes, they could have done a lot better. They could have set up the story better and have a better resolution. This is somewhere above madascar but way below Kungfu-Panda-1 and How to train your dragon.

Well said Big3DFan.
I agree that while The Croods is an enjoyable Adventure with awesome 3D, it is tough to dethrone the Kung Fu Panda movies and How To Train Your Dragon (with part 2 available in theaters 2014. )

Is that an in store sales price? My copy from Amazon is marked as shipped but I'll return it if I can get that price.
