Best Horror Movie of 2013

I know I originally voted for Evil Dead, but I should have voted for "others". Here's my top 5 of 2013.

The Conjuring was woeful. The dullest, most uninvolving film I saw all year until I suffered through Insidious Chapter 2. What a shock that they both sprung forth from the same personnel.

Carrie is a non-entity. It's not a movie, it's a Xerox copy of a movie that once had style and personality.

I thought Mama was very well done, not extremely scary though.

Evil Dead satisfied all my gorey needs but was pretty predictable.

The Conjuring got my vote, good story.. pretty spooky. I don't usually go for the paranormal flicks but this one had me going.

Mama was like fairy tale horror... or something along those lines. It was beautifully done. Loved it the most so I voted for it.

The Evil Dead would be second. Carrie & The Conjuring above the rest listed.

If I had counted The Lords Of Salem as 2013 then it'd beat Mama. TLOS is a ****ing masterpiece. We rarely see a horror film 100% commit to it's story and characters. Even among the ones that do TLOS is a unique and unforgettable cinematic vision.

I read the whole thread and before I got to you, I was stunned no one even had it as honorable mention. It got the very limited release in 2012 and wasn't seen by the masses until 2013, so it's realistically a 2013 film.

I give my vote to the Maniac remake as well. You're Next is a very close second.

Big Bad Wolves if it counts, if it doesn't then the Maniac remake (well that was 2013 for Brits dunno about the rest of the world) and so if THAT doesn't count, I'd say The Dirties.

Although The Conjuring was pretty good I'm choosing Insidious 2. I love sequels that truly tie in with the first film. This movie came full circle and I think this is a great way to end it. I hear there might be a part 3 but it will basically be a spinoff and I'm not all that intersted.
