Just started this show on Amazon streaming... I'm definitely in. I don't know why I missed it... Probably because I don't like to jump into shows, I prefer to start at the beginning. I'm sure by the time I finish the series, Live Another Day will be on BD!

Just out on interest, was 24 shown in HD on TV since season 1, or did the HD versions only appear when they were added to iTunes, Netflix etc?

The second one. Fox wasn't broadcasting in HD when 24 started. I believe it wasn't until around 2004 or 05 that they started doing it.

Edit: by second one I mean second option, not second season.

I agree.
I'm really enjoying the current season airing on TV, and hopefully that will drag all the previous seasons to the format.

Especially if this current season is a one off season of 24 and the closure of the show.

If the October pre-order date is anything to go buy for 24: Live Another Day blu-ray, then maybe we'll see a complete boxset in blu-ray around the same time or not long after? It would certainly make sense to do it then and maximise sales for Christmas..

Let's hope Fox notes that The Sopranos box set is coming finally and realizes that with the new show that there would be no better time to announce a complete Blu-ray set including the new series.

I don't see a complete bluray collection coming any time soon, and trust me I want it. However, word has it that FOX is seriously considering continuing this newly launched event series as an annual summer event. It makes sense given the 4 year gap between the season 8 finale and what is now basically the currently airing season 9. All that time and to only revisit the Bauer files for a quick 12 episode arc? Sure that's fine but the show is still talked about and the buzz with this newly craft model of "24" is working and critics and fans alike clearly still want more Jack Bauer. We'll have to see but definitely picking up the blu edition of 'Live Another Day.' Sales matter after all

I'm eagerly anticipating the Blu-ray release of the new series as 1080p24 with dts-ma 5.1 will be the way I experience the return to 24-land for the first time. I watched all of 24 live as it aired, this time I wanted quality over instant gratification; it's pretty much what I do with all the shows I really love the most.

They already have done work on Season 1 for Blu-ray, and Season 9 is coming out in October. So it still could be possible we might see a boxset released at the end of the year or early next year.

But yes, very doubtful it will appear over the summer.

True, I don't doubt they have plans for the "24" series to hit bluray but even if a boxset were to release in the next year or so, I'd probably pass on it given their plans to continue the newly launched event series as an annual summer program. It wouldn't truly be a complete series if the show does in fact continue on lol. It would just mean we'd have to double-dip down the line when in fact the show wraps for good. We'll have to see what develops. Long live Jack Bauer!!!!

At $99.99 it's not a bad price to lock in at if you're cool with the DVD format, and are willing to take a gamble that we'll never see another chapter of "24" and its renewal days are over. I tend to think we haven't seen the last of Jack Bauer and considering the recent announcement of the series stars and producers attending Comic-Con for a panel discussion, that may be when they plan to make the renewal confirmation. Fingers crossed.

Was the entire series shot on 35mm film? I seem to remember people asking for 24 on BD on this site a few years ago and people were saying that the first few seasons were shot on sub-1080p video. IMDB only lists 35mm, but that's not always accurate for older listings.
