Probably - a company that specializes in remastering/restoration mentioned restoration of 24 as going particularly well earlier this year. Anyone watching on Netflix can clearly see how much better seasons 6-8 look in HD than the previous years due to the way the film's been transferred, so hopefully this will improve the quality of the earlier years...

never thought of it but I guess there was no bluray which is odd for a newer show. I have to rewatch this - own all the seasons on dvd but never rewatched it after seeing it on tv. Liked first couple seasons, wasn't as much a fan of the later ones.

I wonder if it will be a complete series set including the upcoming Season 9. I have season 7 and 8 on blu-ray so I'd like individual seasons.

I only have season 8 on Blu-ray, so I'd dive for a Complete Series set. Hopefully it would include the TV movie as well

Cool news. I just watched Season 8 on amazon prime because I missed it when it first aired and man it was a great season. Can't wait for the new season in May.

Unlikely - afaict, both Fox and the production team are both hoping Live Another Day will be enough of a hit to turn 24 back into a staple of the Fox programming.

(Unfortunately, True Detective has pretty much ruined any chance it could have ever won another emmy if it retains the miniseries format...)

Well, if it becomes a staple, it could win another. True Detective will have a completely new cast next season, so it might be very different.

Fox is re-releasing seasons 1-7 on DVD and season 8 on blu-ray on April 29, hence the "Seasons 1-8 on Digital HD, DVD & Blu-ray".

I believe season 7 was also released on bluray and the only seasons not to receive HD releases were the first 6 seasons. As far as re-releasing the seasons in new DVD packages (probably slim sets like they did with "Buffy" and "Angel" etc.) it makes sense I suppose to rev people up for its return to TV in May. However, it really does nothing for me as I have been waiting to spend my money on the bluray editions lol. But for those who don't care it's certainly a great deal at $12.99 per season.

what kinda uckery is this, i mean, what are they waiting for? the perfect time to release it would be as soon as the new miniseries event premieres on tv. in fact, that night, during the commercials, they should have advertised it.

and yes, it should include the new miniseries event too. fox really dropped the ball with this.

many true fans who want this to be released on blu are made to suffer for no particular reason.

24 is an amazing show that deserves a Blu-ray release. I hope this gets released. I already own these on DVD and have no desire to double dip, but I still want a Blu-ray release for the sake of other 24 fans that want it.

Supposedly older TV shows on blu ray sell really poorly. Actually TV in general sells much worse on blu ray than movies, supposedly. Unless you're Star Trek of course.

So they probably just never plan on releasing them on blu. It's a shame but it is what it is.

HBO's done pretty well... Obviously the big guns are current shows like True Blood and Game of Thrones, but they've been happy with their results. (Of course their syndication deals are slightly lighter than most broadcast shows.)

I've been waiting for a great deal on the big box set (Havn't seen it under $70) or blu to come out. Man I'd pay $30 a season for all of them on blu easy.

How do you know it's not just a general statement to indicate the seasons available on DVD and the ones on both.
