People have been saying that for years. It's a gimmick....it's not the real deal...yet studios still are committed to releasing 3D movies. Even this will see a 3D version eventually. I will buy the 2D version and 3D when it comes out.

Well the the decline in theatrical and home 3D would say otherwise.

I think numbers showing a decline could be interpreted in many ways. 3D technology is not the kind that will keep penetrating more homes. Sales are bound to plateau then fall at some point.

Sounds great just like they did with the early release of the DOTM Bluray. Guess that means the 4 disc Deluxe version will be out sometime in January then.

Hey, I live in Australia, so I can't order direct from Best Buy. Know of any online sites or group buys that don't rip you off, and can post internationally?

Ugh I wish it was coming out in October or November instead. September is too damn expensive for me this year.

The American postal service raised their rates rather drastically earlier this year. It is quite expensive to ship anything abroad, even to our Canadian neighbors. You might pay more for shipping than for the Steelbook itself.

Yet the revenue from 3d is increasing every year. Also the second largest market China (and likely soon to be largest market) absolutely loves 3d. The problem 3d has faced is far to many bad and unneeded conversions have been done and tvs released with horrid 3d support. We do seem like we are moving away from poor conversions though with more films being shoot in 3d for 3d and conversions generally not being terrible as they often have been in the past (or less terrible). I still don't think 3d will take of at home until glasses free becomes an affordable reality. 3d in cinemas however will remain as it is for the foreseeable future. I do think they need to drop the extra charge for viewing a film in 3d at cinemas (it will happen sooner or later I am sure) when they do that it will be interesting to note if people who have started opting for 2d over 3d start opting for 3d again.

In some countries, 3D is forced upon viewers. Movie theaters don't show 2D if there is a 3D version, so the "popularity" argument is false as people don't have a choice.

Yet I have had to see the 2d version when no 3d version was available for a native 3d film. It works both ways.

damn right i don't know why the don't include 3d in some of their releases like Amazing spiderman which is an obvious one to include it in. Plus now we have to trek to the shop to pre-order or buy without their website and limited stores

I may get this being that I enjoyed it way more than the previous movies & there really isn't a connection to them in this one..

Except for the aftermath of the Battle Of Chicago, and the fact that the Autobots spent the entire time as fugitives in "Age Of Extinction" because of the events of "Dark Of The Moon".

Did you even pay attention to the story in "Age Of Extinction?

Honestly no. Probably should have mentioned I hate the other movies & I pretty much checked out by the time I rented the 3rd. Don't remember much about them other than the humans (because they were horrible IMO) some of the action & none of the story line. Only reason I saw this one is because the Mrs. wanted to see it, turns out I actually enjoyed this one enough to consider adding it to the collection. A big improvement IMO.

Also, the connection I was talking about were the humans, which is really my biggest problem with the previous movies. Sorry, didn't flesh out my explanation.

I guess I went in with the mindset that this is a reboot.
