The former statements were directed at the people going "I want extras, but not movies 3 and 4, ain’t nobody got time for dat". But it's no more expensive to just buy the anthology over the first 2 separately, and you get the 2 bonus discs – now I got time for dat.

Clear choice.
Where does it say there's no extras?

I agree, and I also loved the extended cut of the film.

Alien 3 is such an underrated movie. Not only it's a great piece of cinematic nihilism that was never duplicated
[Show spoiler]until Snowpiercer was released
, it's also one hell of an introduction to David Fincher in general. I cannot have a collection without it.

I can live without ever seeing Alien: Resurrection again, on other hand...

Anyone else get tired of reading about how some people like Alien 3 and nobody likes Alien 4 over and over again? Just checking.

And Aliens can't get enough of you in their life cycles if that facehugger pic is anything to go by.

I like them in descending order of release of course. But Alien Resurrection is still a guilty pleasure for me and not the absolute stinker its portrayed as.

You want a stinker? Try AVP or AVPR!

Hey, I've gladly looked for excuses to mulitiple dip on Alien. Happy to have the anthology set, got the Japanese slipcase blu too, and the original DVD JP edition. But I don't understand why people simply mentioning the need to eventually have a release with the original color timing would be bashed by anyone here. It's not just a purist thing. Ridley Scott was a visual genius in his peak. Even if someone is indifferent, or simply unaware of how beautiful this film looked in it's original theatrical release, I don't see why we can't be civil and open minded. BTW, I never minded the color changes to Night of the Living Dead 90 that caused such an uproar. So, really, people bringing this up are not just being anal, trust me.
Threads like Alien and Star Wars are vast, with ever new fans posting, so it's inevitable that certain topics and comments will come up again and again.

A really nice set. It's Japanese, right? They are very "art" conscious and would choose to center on Giger - especially now, still close to his death. With all the years that he was put on the back burner I'm glad he's being thought of in such a way. Without him Alien just wouldn't have it's signature.

Exorcist is another one that I won't purchase again in any form unless they got back to the original grading.
In the case of that film, they really need to restore the Bass designed Warner communications tag to the beginning too. The minimalist design plus the primary red field adds quite a bit to the atmosphere before the film even starts.

Agreed. To paraphrase Artie Lange, "You get to watch Alien and Aliens, and you also get two other discs to do lines of coke off of."

Do you have some other way to watch the extras, or are they not worth watching at all if you only watch them once?
