MikeZ...Maybe I ought to pick up a DVD copy.

I've had the Blu Ray since it was released and I love it but you can tell the DVD would look as good PQ wise in many places. Some shots clearly are better than others and parts of it look fantastic on Blu.

I'm sure the Blu Ray got better Audio.

I have the "Live at Gdansk" concert on DVD and it looks and sounds fine.

I have never disagreed with the majority more about a transfer, and I have NEVER been more satisfied with ANY music on video ( inc. VHS/DVD/Blu Ray ) than I am with REMEMBER THAT NIGHT Blu Ray !!! My God, what an upgrade from the DVD I've loved all this time until now. I nearly need to wear sunglasses when I watch it, and rewatchability ? How is over and over and over all weekend long ??? The fact that I got to pass along the DVD to my 26 year-old son is truly icing on the doughnut, I'm sure he'll appreciate it as I did. IF there are any PQ " issues," they are because of the onstage dry ice. Upgrade isn't a descriptive enough word.

The picture was a bit underwhelming, but the audio was tremendous. Loved it.

I think of it as being in Herb vision. LOL. Put it in the other weekend when the family was away and cranked it. OMG, did it bring back memories of seeing Pink Floyd in the late 80s and again in the early 90s. Outstanding concert. This is not the concert I thought it was. Unless it is the second one which I haven't watched yet. I had seen Gilmour on either Palladia or HDNET and it looked similar, but he had a woman on cello. Man, that concert was great too.

It is probably the David Gilmour "In Concert" DVD

The cello is very nice in Comfortably Numb:

This one is not on the DVD (maybe the extras, I should check it out):

I like "Remember That Night" but I really prefer the "In Concert" DVD and it has a very good 2.0 PCM soundtrack as well.

I'm on a Gilmour / Floyd bender lately !?!?!? Watching my copy of VH-1 Legends / my VHS of the 2005 Live 8 reunion/ ALL Gilmour DVDs and the Blu Ray ( expensive double dip ) / Ordered the out-of-print gold discs of both Meddle and Wish You Were Here / Dark Side Of The Moon SACD / bootleg copy of Alan Parsons' 4.0 DTS mix of DSOTM / and just hours ago, the DVD of Live 8 so I can have the improved audio with DTS...Can't...seem...to...get...enough...

I wonder if this originally was shot in 1080/50 and some of the video issues have to do with conversion to 60hz. Make sure you explore disc 2, great stuff there too.

Ugh. Disc 1 of mine has a nasty scratch down by the hole. Its kind of an upside down L. Must have been made by the hub, can't recall if this arrived with a lose disc or not. It effects playback on my HP laptop but not on my PS3. Where is the scratch? Beginning of part 2, of course, the best part of the entire performance IMO, Shine On You Crazy Diamond. If it screwed up on my PS3, I was going to buy a new copy. It looks like this is a title that will never see the bargain bin and if anything gets more expensive as time goes buy. If it looked like it was OOP, I was going to get a new copy anyway. Love Pink Floyd, and Gilmour.

That's true. But the included Live Aid Concert footage is worse. I remember how bad it looked back then when I was watching it live on MTV, how bad the lights were affecting the cameras. Speaking of which, I have the Live Aid DVDs sitting here.....going to go and pop that in.

I agree. I was surprised (and delighted) that Echoes was included with this set, and is better than the original version that was side two of "Meddle". I use the "Remember That Night" version as a classic Floyd demo.

I use it for Audio demo's. The concert PQ is odd as the non fog shots are presitine but the rest of it is a bit off.

And yes, watching "Echoes" makes me sad that Rick Wright is no longer with us. What a masterful performance of the song.

I treasure having had the pleasure to have seen PF on tour for Meddle when they first did Echoes in concert. Imagine that in a 1500 seat Vaudeville-era theater. Ranks right up there with their legendary Animals tour performance at Cleverland Municipal Stadium (I was there, somewhat ... )

Anyone catch Gilmour on his recent US tour? I was lucky to catch the last of his three Chicago shows. You really can't top hearing his playing for yourself, it was an amazing night.

It's my understanding he's planning on shooting his next run at the Royal Albert Hall, in September. So it looks like we'll get another disc from him in the very near future.

Saw him night 1 of his 2 night stand in MSG a couple of weeks ago. We had been looking forward to that show since we got the tickets about 6 months ago & he didn't disappoint...song selection, sound system, voice, backup band, and (of course) his playing - all were just phenomenal. It was a brief tour, so glad I had the opportunity to see him one more time.

Definitely on my "Mount Rushmore of Guitarists"...which has led to some interesting discussions. Who would your top 4 be?
