My copy just arrived in the cardboard packaging from B&N and I was worried the digipack would be damaged. However, it arrived in pristine shape. Size reminds me of Babette's Feast.

While I'm looking forward to going through the extras, especially the Criterion exclusive commentary, it surprises me when the extras on a release like this, with about an hour of bts stuff and a commentary, garner a 5, whereas the extras on something like the Hunger Games movies get 3-3.5's. I'm no Hunger Games fanboy, so it's not all that important to me, but commentaries, 2+ hour bts documentaries, etc, and they earn 3's. Anyway, I know different reviewers have different opinions on what constitutes quality over quantity, so who cares? It just surprised me a little. Like I said, I'm really looking forward to hearing the new commentary for Moonrise.

So, it's a slimmer package, then. Like Sweet Smell of Success, too? I guess I can go for that.

My copy should get here tomorrow. Even though I already own the first Blu-ray release, I'm still pretty excited for this new one.

Why would they make alternate art to address a single person's OCD? Especially when nearly half of Anderson's films in the Criterion Collection have art by artists other than his brother?

All seven films in the collection have director-approved artwork. There's literally nothing to suggest they're ever going to change it.

Mine arrived earlier this week and I have to say, I love the packaging, and I love that the yellow script title in the upper right is just a sticker (maybe that was made clear previously but I've been away from BRDC for a while). This thing looks wonderful.

Watched this tonight and didn't really see any video issues to report. It looked nice and detailed. Maybe some issues in the three fog scenes, but I think that's probably on the film used. Not saying it isn't more poorly compressed, but on my 60" it never stood out to me, same as Fisher King.

Movie was wonderful, better than I remembered.

Watched mine on Tuesday and it looked fantastic. First time I've seen it since the theater and it was every bit as good as I remember it. Also got my wife to watch it as she loved Fantastic Mr. Fox and she had a blast. Now she can't wait to watch Anderson's other films. His humor isn't for everyone so I'm glad she gets a kick out of it.

"Why don't you like me"?

"Because your girlfriend stabbed me with lefty scissors".

The review for this movie gets an overall 4stars because the reviewer apparently didn't really like the movie. I don't think bluray.com should dock points for that. If i want a "taste" review, I can read rotten tomatoes. Does it look and sound exceptional? Are the special features feature filled? Is the packaging and ephemera interesting? If yes, 5 stars.
As far the the writer's taste goes, I suppose he can be happy that there are a myriad movies that are less "abstract" (read- purposefully detailed).

That's why the review is broken up into sections. So you can separate the editorial from the audio/visual.

If I don't care about packaging and just want the release with the best picture quality is this the one to go with?

Anyone know how to get rid of, or at least, slow down, those pesky brown spots that usually show up on digipak packaging? I think it depends on the material but my Moonrise Kingdom Criterion release is less than 3 years old and it's already pretty "spotty".

Don't know how to describe it except there are like tiny brown lumps that appear sporadically in patches? Also noticed it on my Seven Samurai digipak, I'm afraid the rest of my digipaks will soon go the same route.

Anyone know how to at least slow this process down? Do I need to invest in plastic sleeves or get them off my shelf and locked tight in a cupboard?

EDIT: I jus said **** it and used denatured alcohol on everything. it didn't remove them entirely but I read that it kills them so fingers crossed

Had the same problem with my Koker trilogy digipak so I would also appreciate a response to this.

Is the title sticker supposed to be placed on the cover? How easy is it to get off if I don't like it?
