WOW! The 1993 Nutcracker on Bluray?
I'd like to see this for nostalgia's sake.

Some like the Digibook, and standard edition might have been, but not all editions. The 50th anniversary edition, plus the ones bundled with other films are newly OOP.

Not originally.

The cinema, VHS, and DVD versions were all Warner.

Who remembers the flak Costner (that ego-tripping movie star) got for removing those scenes and 'destroying' a director's work?

Was there anything special on the WB release of Empire Records that should urge me to pick it up, or should I just wait for this re-release?

Thankfully snagged the JFK Digibook for Under $20...that will be hard to do ever again. The boxset is just too much pointless swag for my tastes and i don't need Oliver Stone's political propaganda either. Owning the steelbook of "Heat" as well as the boxset of "Once Upon a Time in America" pretty much completes my needs for the Regency titles that Warner Bros. is losing.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a peep out of Fox regarding these releases, especially the four titles which are new to Blu-ray, since the release date is only 6 weeks away.

It is interesting the release for Once Upon a Time in America has a higher MSRP than the others. I wonder if it'll initially just be a re-release of the CE that Warner put out? Similar to what Lionsgate does when they release Miramax tithes previously distributed by Echo Bridge.

But aren't some of the Lionsgate reissues missing the extras that were on the EBHE releases?

Yeah, look at Jersey Girl.

I'm going be honest; I'm still not comfortable of Warner losing their Regency titles (especially the fact, those titles were theirs in the first place).

Warner tends to at least try and do a good job with their older titles but I wonder what the quality is going be like with regency???

I hope this is an error. It makes no sense that Warner plans a 20th Anniversary Edition of Heat and the rights switch to Fox.

Or this new right situation is only for the us market.

My dream is a 2 disc Digibook for Heat.

Yeah, but many were initially just repackages of the old EB discs. I'm just theorizing a reason why OUaTiA has a higher price than the others. Perhaps it's just because it'll have more discs, who knows.

Thanks, I added these to the OP. Fox is really opening up the gates on the New Regency titles.

Seems kind of fishy that all of these titles are coming to BD. I mean, I guess Regency is calling the shots, but why would they even want to bring some of these movies to blu-ray?

I'll pick The New Age. Very funny, and very dark, satire by Michael Tolken (The Player). Let's hope his excellent The Rapture will see the light of blu-ray soon, too.
