Yeah, it's funny that the Independence Day sequel and the new Godzilla film both have the subtitle "Resurgence". I doubt it's intentional, but since Emmerich's '98 movie is widely considered to be a huge insult to the franchise both among fans and several of the Japanese filmmakers that have contributed to the series over the years, it works as a sort of subtle middle finger aimed Emmerich's way.

I don't expect it to be the greatest movie of all time, but it's Natalie Portman in a film with a plot that sounds interesting. That's good enough for me. How bad can it be? It's probably going to flop hard but I'll go see it before it gets pulled from theaters.

Well, IMDB isn't up to date. They haven't even begun work on it as far as I know, and the title was changed to Tintin and the Temple of the Sun. Right now it's set for 2017, but a former screenwriter for it stated that he wasn't even sure on the status of it being made.
