What's the consensus on this movie? Good, bad, somewhere in between. I'm wondering because the Target exclusive looks fantastic. I'm thinking of a blind buy but I'm not sure. It looks pretty mediocre to bad for me .

As a Warcraft series fan, I found it quite enjoyable and the movie is littered with subtleties that fans will love. If I wasn't a fan; however, I think that your enjoyment of the movie will depend on your taste in fantasy films. My wife was familiar with what Warcraft was but didn't know anything about the story prior. She's a big fan of fantasy films (especially LotR) though and she really enjoyed it as well. I would say that if you are really concerned about wasting money on it, give it a rent or wait a few weeks as I think it'll drop in price relatively quickly. I actually plan to buy both the 4K and 3D versions because I can't decide between the two of them! (3D was actually really good on this one).

Well since Amazon cancelled my preorder for this, not really sure why...I guess I will go with that nice Target exclusive.

Best Buy's getting a bonus disc, and apparently they'll also sell it with UHD copies, which is awesome for those who want both. But still no UHD+3D in a single package as far as I can tell.

That's very weird; got me worried so I went and checked my order, and thankfully it's still there since at some point the blu dropped to $17.15 on amazon so that's what my order is at

The Target exclusive is rad, though; that'd be my pick if I didn't already have it locked in for a lower price

Would not be shocked if Best Buy's bonus is a digital one. Notice it only says "Bonus Content."

Yeah. Universal has been good until last year with releasing extra content on DVDs, but with the recent Huntsman walmart exclusive being digital content, I have my doubt that this will be on a disc.

I ordered the 4k release from target with their price mistake, but with hearing how good the 3d is, I might just wait for that to go down in price.(I don't have 4ktv yet) Unless the digital copy redeems as UHD, does it? (good to future proof). It seems like Warner Bros releases get redeemed as UHD, but does other studios (Universal) redeem that way too or is it still HDX?

If digital copy gets redeemed in UHD, ill keep my 4k preorder, but if its HDX, ill just get the 3d version and buy the 4k version when I eventually get the 4ktv. It will probably get another anniversary/version later on anyway with UHD digital copy if they don't do it with this release.

You mean the code for digital inside a 4K? Someone gave me a free Lucy UV from a 4K and it redeemed UHD, and that's Universal.

Considering this bonus content is coming from BBY, it could very possibly be on a disc. Walmart owns Vudu, so it makes sense, in Walmart's perspective, to limit it to its platform. Since BBY doesn't own CinemaNow, it might be one disc. I am not sure, but checking BBYs previous bonus content since they sold CinemaNow, to FilmOn I think, and if those were on discs, then this should be on discs too.

As for the uv code in 4K BDs, then it should redeem UHD, or give UHD rights in your uv locker. May want to wait a few days after release, redeem on Flixster or wait till someone confirms Vudu is redeeming correctly.

I'm just wondering... Is it the store or the studio that decides where to put the exclusive content??

For longest time, target exclusive doesn't include bonus content with the 3D releases. Zootopia 3D did have it, but that's really the only exception for the longest time. I think one before that was Sin City 2, and only because that didn't have separate 2D release.

Now Best Buy is including bonus content with the regular 2D release and 4K release. But NOT for 3D version!!
Thinking about it, maybe the extra content will be on a disc since it would have been very easy to include the exclusive on 3D release too if it was digital.

Seriously, if this bonus content is digital, I will be convinced of conspiracy theory of studios trying to make 3D dead at home so people will have no choice but to go to theater to see films in 3D; thus increasing the box office numbers. (I do go to theater lot less since I got my 3D TV)

I am tempted to get the Steelbook from Walmart. I will also be getting The Shallows on the same day.

I'm not certain if I want to get this or not. I dunno.

Anyone know if the Best Buy exclusive bonus is disc or digital?

If the Best Buy exclusive is disk based, than that's what i'll go with.If it's digital,I'll get the steelbook from Walmart.

I usually go with the exclusives that are more special features(if disk based) over packaging. The only time I haven't is the Target Walking Dead steelbooks.I always go with those(I believe Walmart had a bonus disk for season 6).

Blind buy for me, but I'm pretty sure this will be a good buy for me. I'm leaning towards the Target exclusive - those cards look pretty cool.

Plus I should have a gift card to use and will get 5% off with the RedCard, so why not?
