Any potential UHD release would most likely be released by Fox...

Interesting - sorry for sounding ignorant, but when did the film change hands? I've always known it to be a Warner title....was there a recent deal between studios to release particular titles in UHD?

It has to do with Regency. All of the titles they had with WB went to Fox and they've since re-released the title on home video with the WB releases going out of print.

I don't know, but it's not about UHD. I own the WB DVD and Blu-ray, but according to Blu-ray.com, a 2015 re-release of "Heat" came from Fox.

I do however own the Fox Blu-ray release of "L.A. Confidential" that came out at the same time as the Fox "Heat" release, and that was formerly a WB release as well (I own the original WB snapcase DVD release).

Thanks MattPerdue!

No US announcement at all yet. The UK announced a BD, but no UHD.

It's not but some of us were hoping a UHD might show it off better.

What the heck! Why does the new remaster look worse?! It almost looks like the JP was the 4K scan and the new master is 2K. Bummed.

Has more teal and orange, looks a little more digital, the BD is poorly encoded and has a weird look to it. It has pretty much no real detail increase so there's not much reason to put up with all that. Maybe a UHD will look better.

why is this thread still here? Obviously the OP jumped the gun.

PieterV is good at reporting threads from other members, but it seems that he is sentimental about his own

I see what you did there. You just looked at the newly created Dolby Vision topic, went through a search and kicked this topic. It's easy to come back months after all final info is officially released.

There are familiar topics like this one over the Blu-ray.com forums. Happy kicking.

When I jump the gun or things got cancelled, I will report my own topics via the report-button and it's up to a moderator to decide. Some topics got locked for further notice. Some got deleted.

I have no problems things got deleted/locked.

Because Mann is kinda like Lucas that way, his most recent cut is his preferred cut so that's the one he wants people watching in the best possible way.
