I went to this today. My friend and I were the only 2 in the theatre for the 12pm showing. It was like the 3rd or 4th biggest theatre too.

I ended up loving the hell out of this. It was entertaining from beginning to end. It was glossy, trashy teen horror. Also known as the best kind. It was basically a PG-13 Final Destination without the opening disaster. Joey King surprised me. I was never a fan of her, left the movie liking her. All the stereotypical characters are fun. The "black best friend" was probably my favorite. I wouldn't mind seeing this again in theatres.

I gave this a shot on Sunday, hence how I know the major difference between Wish Upon and The Box.

Another major point difference:

[Show spoiler]The Box has a handler who delivers it to a couple of his choosing. Wish Upon is a music box that started as a choice to keep then became a tragic "found treasure."

I enjoyed the Final Destination inspired deaths and love that unlike Final Destination, these did not seem overreaching but it did show the determination. I gave tiny chuckle at
[Show spoiler]the uncle's death when he refused to fall under the water after banging his head on the edge. He then tapped himself with the faucet.

This was a very awful film. Don't think I enjoyed one scene of this . I did laugh out loud at the end when a character gets hit by a car so it gets 0.5/5 just for that.
So lame it could almost have been a Disney channel made for tweens original movie.

Saw this for the first time earlier tonight after blind buying the BD. Liked it more then I thought I would. Solid 3/5 for me.
