I own the Anchor Bay blu for the first film. Anyone think they might give it a new transfer for this set?

The UK Arrow release already uses a superior transfer to the Anchor Bay. Check out caps-a-holic for details.

I have been watching various eBay auctions looking to pick up the UK box at a decent price for months now so hopefully the news will be basically the same contents and even packaging of the UK set. What I saw in screen grabs of the framing issue for H3 didn't really bother me enough that if it was repeated on this set, I wouldn't complain.

Would love to finally get Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth on Bluray with both the R-Rated & Unrated Cuts. It takes a lot a flack for being the cheesiest entry into the series but I always liked it.

Outside of 1,2, and 4 all the sequels are crap but if they're releasing a complete series set, I'll pick it up. Maybe a second viewing of the sequels will change my mind somewhat.

It may be cheesy but it's the only one of the sequels I found reasonably entertaining.

I can appreciate what Hellraiser II tried to do and it has its moments, but setting much of it in the hell universe never worked because it's small budget can't do more than show a few corridors and small rooms held together by some ropey matte paintings.

The rest of the films I find unwatchably boring. The fourth film held some promise had the studio not so heavily tampered with it and the rest is opportunistic straight to video fodder.

I have been trying.to get hellraiser III on blu ray for a long time.I own hellraiser I II and IV. Hellraiser II could really benefit from a new transfer. I hope these rumors are true.

For somebody called Hellraiserfan, you haven't been following its home video release history all that closely.

Last year's Scarlet Box had brand new remasters of the first three films.

Hellraiser: Inferno is so underrated. Writer/Director Scott Derrickson's first film and it's a worthy entry to the series. But that's just me, I consider Sinister one of the few horror masterpieces of the 2010's

I agree with you regarding Inferno. It is one of my favorites of the sequels and I was surprised to see how much hate it gets. I enjoyed most of Sinister and I'm looking forward to Doctor Strange.

As for Arrow, I highly doubt this has anything to do with the later sequels. Barker had nothing to do with them and basically disowns them. I already own the Scarlet Box set, but if this offers something brand new and worthwhile I may bite and pick it up.

What are the odds of this having nothing to do with Hellraiser? (doubt it though) His two other films are already released in the US.

I would guess at best it is the same exact package only region A, and very likely will be only the first two movies in a smaller package, so there's really no reason for you to be interested unless you want region A copies enough to buy it again and sell your UK one.

Yeah, that's what I am thinking this most definitely will be. I'm a huge Barker fan, but no need to re-buy something when I'm region-free at home and already own the UK set.

I'm still hoping for the much talked about Clive Barker directed remake...doubt it will happen though.

Any chance it could be a release of Clive's original short films Salome and The Forbidden? It would be just under an hour of runtime for both films combined

I remember finding that movie on VHS at a church rummage sale years ago. Of all places.

Actually I see now there was a 1998 video release of both films with a 1 hour 18 minute run time. This would be a pretty cool Arrow release

I doubt there would be enough demand for a standalone release of those two films. If Arrow does release some Hellraiser stuff here in the US, I imagine they will release the short films on a bonus disc like they did with the Scarlet Box.

Hmmm...you may be on to something. Maybe the so-called "Limited Edition Exclusive" disc from the Scarlet Box will get a US release. It is called The Clive Barker Legacy after all...and Arrow said "exciting Clive Barker related news."

We will find out though...look at the Cronenberg debacle regarding the release of his early work.

It's Citizen Kane compared to most of the other sequels.

The only thing about it that I flat-out don't like are the new cenobites, which are unbelievably stupid in every way.

...that really torpedoed the end of the movie imo.
